Peter Barlow’s exit storyline from Coronation Street could be ‘sealed’ after violent scenes on the ITV soap.
During Friday’s instalment (August 25), Peter, played by actor Chris Gascoyne, was caught in a violent exchange with Carla Connor’s nephew, Ryan.
Trying to protect Carla from Ryan’s rage, the two men came to blows which led Peter to inform Ryan that his behaviour will not be tolerated in his home and that he would have to leave.

But Carla disagreed with Peter’s stance and Peter told Ryan he would not let him treat Carla that way again, to which Ryan apologised for his actions.

With Carla feeling like she was in the middle of the pair, she also appeared unlikely to kick Ryan out during his time of need even if the two men were to ever have a disagreement again.
With Peter reportedly leaving the cobbles soon, it now appears Ryan’s intolerable behaviour could prompt him to split up with Carla and leave the cobbles.
This divide in the Barlow-Connor household could lead Peter to make an ultimatum – it’s either Ryan goes or he leaves.
Die-hard Corrie fans, who are already aware of Peter’s pending departure have taken to X, formely known as Twitter to share their disappointment.

One social media user wrote: “#Corrie got to say I bloody love Peter, gutted he’s leaving and hope he comes back before long.
Another penned: “Carla and Peter are adorable they are doing it on purpose because Chris is leaving.”
Meanwhile a third wrote: “Gutting that Peter Barlow is leaving!!!”
In July, news broke that actor Chirs will be leaving the long-running soap to pursue other roles.

A source reportedly told The Sun: “Chris has decided to take an extended break from the soap.
“He loves working at Coronation Street but he’s got a lot of things he wants to do and the time is right for him to take a break and pursue other roles.”
However according to the TV insider, this “isn’t a final goodbye” and the door is still “left open” for him to return.
Chris previously announced he would be playing the role of Captain Hook in The All New Adventures of Peter Pan, a production running from December 8 until December 31 at The Alban Arena in St Albans.
