Danniella Westbrook says she was doing 11g of cocaine every day when she did CBB

Having been hooked on cocaine since she was 14, Daniella Westbrook has gone through an unfathomable battle with addiction. And in an eye-opening interview, she’s opened up on her worst moments.

The talented actress’ troubles began after she shot to stardom as Sam Mitchell on EastEnders.

With the price of fame taking its toll, Westbrook’s journey began. Ultimately, she’d end up snorting 5g a day while pregnant with her son Kai and by 2016, her life was hanging in the balance.

Having wasted over £250,000 and damaged her septum – the cartilage that separates the two nostrils so severely that it actually fell out – Westbrook knows she has to help others from going down the same path.

In an interview with James English for his podcast, she confessed: “I do feel for my kids.

“When I went on Big Brother, my kids were thinking, ‘Oh my God, how’s she going to be?’

“Because I went on there doing 11 grams of gear [cocaine] a day.

“I ain’t going to lie; no one knows that.”

“I was doing 11 bags of gear a day, then they walked me through that f**king door, and I went.”

By 2017, she relapsed by using cocaine as pain relief for botched dental implants.

She told Now magazine: “I’m an addict, and the wheels fell off. I was dabbing cocaine in my mouth and rubbing it around my gums to numb the pain.

“People think I was hoovering cocaine up my nose again, but I wasn’t. I was wiping it around my gums.”

In 2019, she quit, fearing that one more line could kill her. But by 2021, she relapsed again and decided to get help.

Having finally given up cocaine and champagne, she rejoined Narcotics Anonymous and started to pursue a “natural buzz”.

Earlier this year, she went through reconstructive surgery on her face, and she’s over the moon with the results.

Having revealed the truth behind her heartbreaking story, she is hopeful that now she can live the rest of her life without the drug that kept her a prisoner for so long.
