The Chase’s Bradley Walsh rolls his eyes at producers as he spots huge studio gag

The Chase host Bradley Walsh was left rolling his eyes on Monday’s (September 11) installment of the ITV game show after spotting a hilarious gag by producers.

Players Liz, Anya, Ravi and Oli joined the panel in hopes of taking home lots of cash, but fans at home were quick to spot that their names referenced famous pasta dishes.

They realised that, when said together, players Liz and Anya sounded like “lasagne” and Rav and Oli sounded like “ravioli,” but Bradley didn’t seem too impressed.

Players flocked to social media to comment on the joke, but Bradley took a while to pick up on the theme, until chaser Jenny The Vixen Ryan pointed it out.

“This is a very tasty panel but I’ve got an intolerance to gluten so they’re not getting pasta me,” she said as she said hello to the players.

Looking bewildered at the pasta puns, Bradley stared at the team names for a second in silence before rolling his eyes and moaning “oh god – Lasagna ravioli.”

Fans also shared their views online.

The players’ names read as pasta dishes

“Liz, Anya, Ravi, Oli. For some reason I feel like pasta for dinner tonight,” one player penned.

“I can’t cope with the names. LASAGNE RAVIOLI!!!” said a second, while a third added: “I’ll have the lasagne with ravioli please.”

The ITV gameshow often features sneaky links such as connections to the Showbiz world, Royalty and sea-inspired monikers.

Fans of the show joked that “no one works harder” as they recalled some of the best moments from over the years.

Taking to Twitter to point out the links, one viewer wrote: ‘Nobody works harder than the casting director of The Chase.’

Photos showed nautical-themed contestants, Shelley, Cliff, Coral and Sandy and hopefuls who shared the same names as the Spice Girls and The Simpsons.

Another added: ‘I love it when they try to do a group of themed names on The Chase, but someone seemingly drops out,’ as they referred to Australian soap Neighbours, with one random addition

‘Nice to see the Trotter family on The Chase,’ someone else wrote as they noticed an Only Fools and Horses connection.

Viewers were left extremely amused when they realised all four hopefuls had the same names as the Spice Girls, as Brad welcomed players Gerry, Emma, Mel, and Victoria.
