Kirstie Allsopp forced to ditch Location, Location, Location after horror fall

Kirstie Allsopp has been forced to stop filming Location, Location, Location after she suffered a horrific fall.

The Channel 4 star, 52, took to social media to give loyal fans an update on the show. The programme helps couples find their perfect home in the location they desire and has been running for almost two decades.

But Kirstie admitted that the fall had left her “battered and bruised” as she posted a video to Instagram. Speaking on Thursday (September 28), Allsopp said she had been taken to hospital in the wake of the horrific incident.

“I should be out filming Location, Location, Location. Except yesterday, when we were in a pub in Stoke Newington, filming a chat with our lovely house hunters Beth and Rory, I went off to the loo.

“And unfortunately I got something wrong and I ended up falling down an entire flight of stairs,” she said. Kirstie looked visibly uncomfortable, as she outlined how it made her feel.

Allsopp described the situation as “the scariest thing and most painful thing I have ever done in my life”. But she said she was grateful that he had not broken any bones.

She admitted that a CT scan and an x-ray were carried out when she got to the hospital. She added that a “lovely” doctor had checked her condition and offered her moral support.

Kirstie apologised to the staff of the Channel 4 show who had heard her tumbling down the stairs, as in-ears from production picked up her screams. She added that through her microphone, people working on the show had “heard everything”.

The Love It or List It star also gave her thanks to the paramedics who attended the scene. She described their invaluable help in “scooping me off the floor of the pub”.

Allsopp went on to reveal that co-star Phil Spencer would be filling in for her to help couple Beth and Rory in their property search. Kirstie joked that she may FaceTime them when she feels more up to it.

Doctors told the broadcaster that she was to get plenty of rest in bed to help her recover quicker. They also ruled out travelling, saying that “sitting or going in the car is out of the question”.

She lamented that a lavish spa weekend with her sister was now off the table, but she believed there was a “comic” element to the incident. She laughed as she recalled “lying with my dress around my waist on the floor”.
