Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood called out Shirley Ballas for being too “picky” following Nigel Harman and Katya Jones’ performance.
Week two of the BBC dance competition kicked off on Saturday (September 30) night and saw the former EastEnders star dance the Viennese waltz with professional partner Katya. Following their performance, the duo headed over to the panel and head judge Shirley, 63, had plenty of critique for the actor.

She began by praising his “graceful arms” and “connection” with Katya, however informed Nigel that his footwork was incorrect. Shirley said: “The basic foot action in this dance is much flatter than all the other dances, too much bopping up and down for me and too many technical errors.”

The room filled with boos from the audience as Shirley hit back at the room. “Well you might learn something so hold on a minute,” Shirley said as she turned and faced the audience.
She added: “It’s week two now and I believe as a great dancer, you could concentrate a little bit more on some really simple footwork. I’m just asking you to address a few little things, but well done.”

Things took a surprising turn when Craig, who is known for his harsh comments towards the contestants, turned to Shirley and said: “You’re being very very picky down there. “Week two. Picky picky picky,” he repeated.
Craig went on to label Nigel a “fantastic” dancer before insisting fans would vote for him because he has the ability to “draw people in”. Following Shirley’s comments, fans headed to social media to speculate whether there is a feud between the head judge and Katya.

One viewer penned: “Shirley did similar critiques for both Nigel and Adam. Yet with Nigel she was hard and aggressive with her words and with Adam much softer and kinder. Is her beef with Nigel or with Katya?”
