Scouting For Girls can’t get rid of a mystery band member named James Rowland.
For years drummer Pete Ellard’s name keeps getting removed from their Wikipedia page in favour of the imposter.
Singer Roy Stride, who makes up the rest of the trio along with bassist Greg Churchouse, told me: “Every six months somebody deletes Pete’s name from Wikipedia and they replace with James Rowland, it’s unbelievable!

“We have to go in and change it because we get a lot of questions. What is funny is that every so often somebody will just use that, so we’ll go on live radio and they’ll say, ‘Well that’s a great song by Roy, Greg and James!’
“We’ve given up and introduce Pete as James.” Roy added: “We even received a message from this guy who says, ‘Why do you keep deleting me off Wikipedia?’
“I don’t know if there’s some guy out there who actually believes he’s the drummer.” S4G are back with brilliant new album The Place We Used To Meet.
But Roy hasn’t played the track Too Cool To Call to his kids yet: “My kids are teenagers now and they will be utterly cringed out by it… Even if you’re the lead singer of Slayer your daughter is still going to think you’re too cringey.”
