ITV The Chase’s Jenny Ryan fumes after savage age dig by female contestant

The Chase turned very awkward on Friday’s episode (December 8) after a female contestant made a savage age dig at chaser Jenny Ryan.

Children’s entertainer Anna was one of four players all vying to bag a cash prize on the ITV gameshow as they took the “The Vixen” in a battle of trivia knowledge. But while the other players offered up smiles and polite greetings, Anna decoded to take a different approach, saying: “It’s like looking into a mirror but 20 years older.”

“Ouch” said Jenny – as a stunned Bradley high fived Anna and then proceeded to high five all the other players amid awkward laughs from the audience. “Wow,” said Bradley.

Jenny then offered Anna a high offer of £40k because “that’s how old I am.” “you don’t look it,” said Brad. Jenny later admitted she was: “gunna go back to my trailer and get some more botox.”

Fans were shocked at the “rude” comment made by the player. “Anna, we’re all going to get older. You won’t be 22 or 23 forever,” warned one fan. “I hope Jenny catches Anna in the final chase. That was a di*k move on Anna’s part – implying that Jenny was some old hag,” penned a second.

A third added: “This Anna is not nice. Very rude!!” and a fourth: Jenny got roasted!” Anna opted for the middle offer and successfully avoided being caught by a disgruntled Jenny.

The three remaining players went through to the final with £17k in the prize pot and managed to get 16 questions correct before taking on Jenny for the final chase. Fans slammed Anna for passing on “obvious” questions that could have easily been guess – such as naming an ocean or the century something was invented.

Jenny made a series of mistakes resulting seven opportunities for the team to push her back. But the team was only able to answer one of them correctly, wasting an opportunity to take a bugger lead.

They were eventually caught with seven seconds remaining on the clock. “What a messy final chase, so many pushbacks missed, don’t know what was going on with Jenny either,” said one fan.

“They deserved to lose missed some easy pushbacks.. Well done, Jenny,” penned another, while a third blamed player Anna for her passing tactic as the reason for the loss.
