Wham!’s Last Christmas star, 67, unrecognisable almost 40 years after hit music video

Wham!’s legendary festive anthem Last Christmas has become Christmas number one for the first time ever.

And Kathy Hill looks incredible almost 40 years after she played George Michael’s love interest in the music video for the hit. Kathy, now 67, once cosied up to the legendary singer George Michael as they portrayed a couple on a skiing holiday alongside Andrew Ridgeley and his “girlfriend” in the 1984 scenes.

In the video, Kathy appeared with dark brunette curls and a festive yellow cardigan that became emblematic of the era. But fast forward to today, and the star is unrecognisable, having ditched her dark locks for a cascade of stunning blonde curls.

But ageless Kathy looks hotter than ever these days. She’s showcased her incredible physique and toned abs in several bikini snapshots from her holidays on Instagram.

One photo shows her sporting a blue bikini by the water, and another sees her sizzling in a plunging black top with stylish shades to shield her eyes from the sun. Kathy is clearly living her best life.

Reflecting on her time filming the iconic Wham! video, Kathy told The Mirror: “It was so much fun and really natural. It was just right. It wasn’t staged – it’s just a group of friends having fun. That’s the magic.

“In the scene around the festive dinner table, we all got a little bit tipsy. I don’t think George did, but we did. I drank a lot of red wine.” She also revealed that George’s fall in the snow wasn’t staged and he actually slipped.

Kathy added: “George slipped down every time. Once he ended up sitting on me, laughing – and that’s the bit they used. It was completely natural. We were just laughing our heads off. He couldn’t stand up. It’s my favourite scene.”

Wham!’s timeless classic has topped the charts in the past, but this year marked a historic moment as it clinched the Christmas Number 1 spot in the final week before Christmas.

A remarkable feat, considering it had previously been denied the top spot by Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas? upon its initial release. In a fiercely contested race for the Yuletide crown, the 80s icons faced stiff competition from the likes of Mariah Carey, The Pogues, and Sam Ryder, ultimately emerging victorious 39 years after its debut.

Although the song’s creator, George Michael, never had the chance to witness its Christmas glory, his bandmate Andrew Ridgeley shared his sentiments, declaring: “George would be beside himself. It’s mission accomplished.”
