Former Emmerdale star Sian Reese-Williams has announced a surprising career move 11 years after her character was killed off from the ITV soap.
The 42-year old was cast as Gennie Walker in 2008 and she remained in the Dales for five years until she was murdered by evil Cameron Murray, who also killed Carl King and Alex Moss before he was electrocuted in the same year. Sian played a key role in several major storylines that saw her meet her estranged dad Shadrach Dingle for the first time, have a one night stand with Bob Hope, and marry love of her life Nikhil Sharma, with whom she had a child.
Following her demise, Sian went on to appear in Holby City and Line of Duty, and joined the cast of Welsh dramas Hinterland and Hidden. Born and raised in Carmarthenshire, the actress is fluent in her native Welsh.

Revealing her new job on X (formerly Twitter) last week, Sian wrote: “Hello. I make pottery now. I’ll be selling these from next Friday so if you fancy a one-off piece of loveliness to brighten your January, head over to my insta. Ta x.” She included a link to an Instagram reel on the post, which displayed a selection of her stunning ceramic vases.
Sian’s followers were clearly impressed by her work, meanwhile, with one responding: “Mesmerised by each video you post of these.” Another added: “These are gorgeous Sian. Lucky you getting your hands on the clay. Can’t wait for the studio to open.”

Last year, Sian opened up on taking career risks, and emphasised the importance of having the ability to not be afraid to say no to a role. Never be afraid to say no to something that doesn’t feel right.”
