Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face ‘downward spiral’ as Netflix deal runs thin

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be about to face a “downward spiral” period with possibly another big deal being taken off the table soon.

The 39-year-old Prince and Meghan, 42, could be set to hit a turbulent time as deals are taken off the table. Their whopping deal with Netflix could be revoked next year, with the 2025 deadline for expiration of their contract approaching.

In 2020, the Royal pair set sale for America, leaving their UK life and family well behind them. At the time of their decision, they fled the UK armed with two hefty contracts, one being with Spotify and the other a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix.

But just last year, their contract with Spotify collapsed and the rumour mill has been sent into a whirl churning up that the same could be about to happen with Netflix next year. It’s expected that chiefs for the streaming giant are not readying to renew any contracts.

This comes after reports suggest that the pair haven’t lived up to £80million contract expectation and have instead been scrambling around to produce the content they’d signed up for. A Royal commentator explained that the Sussex’s now up against a “downward spiral” period with their Hollywood careers hanging in the balance.

Robert Jobson told TalkTV: “It was supposed to last until 2025 now there’s a lot of rumours at the moment that it’s not going to be renewed. I think the reason for that is the lack of production and there hasn’t been enough going on.”

The Duke and Duchess were originally signed up to Netflix with a promise for fans that Archewell Productions would be bringing viewers vast content over the five year deal. However, since the announcement we’ve only been two separate series.

They released the six-part docuseries Harry and Meghan in December 2022, and Harry’s Heart of Invictus documentary also arrived on the streaming sight last year too. There hasn’t been any mention of any future projects on the horizon.

Further rumours were ignited that the pair could be about to step away from their Netflix spotlight after they attended a recent event with Paramount Pictures. It is believed that Harry and Megan have a strong relationship with the cinematic production team.

The Sussexes were invited to attend the red carpeted premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Kingston by Brian Robbins, along with the CEO of Paramount Pictures in attendance. The couple who live in the same neighbourhood (Montecito, California) as the chief executive are speculated to be close acquaintances.
