The Simpsons has predicted another real-life event – and this time, it’s almost 30 years on from the episode.
Show writer Matt Groening’s apparent mystical ability to forecast future events has baffled fans over the years. The iconic sitcom has wowed fans with this for decades, and it looks like he’s done it again.
A list of previous predicted events includes Lady Gaga’s flying entrance into the Super Bowl, disease eerily similar to Covid-19, the US battling murder hornets and Donald Trump’s rocky presidency.

This time, The Simpsons has predicted one very unlikely music collaboration. If Simpsons fans can recall the ‘Homerpalooza’ episode from memory, they will be able to put two and two together.
The episode aired originally on Fox in May 1996, and showed Homer turning into a carnival freak at a music festival to impress his children. But the prediction has to do with the celebrities who guest-starred in the episode.
Cartoons of Cypress Hill – consisting of stars B-Real, Sen Dog and Eric Bobo, were featured during ‘Homerpalooza’ during a humourous scene. A roadie, who was standing in the backstage area of the festival, yelled: “Hello bands, who is playing with the London Symphony Orchestra?”
“Come on people somebody ordered a London Symphony Orchestra… possibly while high,” he laughed. “Cypress Hill, I’m looking in your direction.”
They then realise they might have roped them in to join them on stage for their track ‘Insane in the Brain’ – and then give it their “best shot”. However, this has now come true…
Cypress Hill has announced they will be performing with the London Symphony Orchestra this summer. The performance will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on July 10.
The band announced the news in a statement: “We are thrilled to be performing with the London Symphony Orchestra in such a prestigious venue as the Royal Albert Hall. It’s a dream come true, a collaboration only The Simpsons could have predicted.”
The orchestra’s managing director, Kathryn McDowell DBE, also added: “After years of social media teasing it, many fans have started to believe it would only be a pipe dream – but the LSO is delighted to finally be joining Cypress Hill on stage and in person, and look forward to creating an unforgettable musical movement! Many thanks to the creators of The Simpsons for the idea and to AEG Artistic and PolyArts for making it all happen.”
