The Teletubbies’ iconic house is no more.
Nineties babies will be horrified to find out that the beloved Teletubby abode is now underwater after being flooded to make way for a pond. After the show found a new location, the production company Ragdoll decided to wipe the hill off the map and fill it with water.
The BBC location was a piece of land in Wimpstone which is now no more. Fans will remember the setting from the iconic nineties series, which was filled with rolling green hills with the Teletubbies’ house situated in the middle.

It featured large half moon windows and a cut out section for the front door. The landowner Rex Harding has previously said that Ragdoll paid to have the plot of land returned to its original state once filming was over.
He also revealed that he earned about £1,000 per month, but regrets not bargaining for a higher profit. Rex said that the production company “kept the location very secret” and that they “wouldn’t let any kids” on site.
Harding continued: “It was about three fields from the farm house so it was out of sight and all we saw was the rush in the morning and afternoon. They did Tots TV here too, which was marvellous to watch. Of the $40 million the show brought in, I only saw around £1,000 each month when they were here […]”
Rex confessed that he should have “insisted on a percentage” after missing out on a cut of the huge profits the BBC show generated. The landowner then said that they “came and dug a hole” and then “filled it with water when they left”.
“They took everything away, levelled off the grass and filled it in. It’s now a nice wildlife lake. It was very interesting to have them there and something different.” It has also been reported that he has had to deal with a number of trespassers entering their property and trying to catch a glimpse of the classic children’s TV location.
Teletubbies was a major hit and ran for five seasons from 1997.
