Coronation Street fans are certain Bethany had something to do with Lauren’s disappearance.
Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) has been missing for months after she mysteriously vanished without a trace at the beginning of the year. Police determined that she had been physically abused after finding forensic evidence in her flat consistent with a violent assault.
Lauren is now presumed dead. Roy Cropper (David Neilson) was recently arrested for Lauren’s murder and next week, discovers that he will be charged. But fans are certain the long-running character had nothing to do with his former employee’s disappearance and have turned their attention to Bethany (Lucy Fallon).

Before vanishing, Lauren approached Bethany and asked if she’d write up her story of how she was brainwashed by a far-right group and sell it to a magazine. Knowing the risks of publishing the story, fans believe Bethany helped Lauren hide to protect her.
Sharing their thoughts on a Facebook group, one wrote: “You know, that makes me think.. Bethany spoke about the commission for doing the story… On Lauren’s ultra right-wing connection. I think maybe Bethany helped her to hide, so the racists won’t find her when the story comes out.”
Another agreed: “I think that Bethany told her that she would be running the story and Lauren told her she has to hide out or there would be consequences against her and they wouldn’t be good. So I think Bethany knows where she is but is trying to protect her.”
A third added: “I think she’s rescued Lauren, I’ve not watched it tonight but I’ve thought that because of Bethany’s past, I think when she was tutoring her she found out a lot about her…”
Someone else speculated: “Bethany is involved somehow, think it’s something to do with the gang she was mixed up in.” Certain that Bethany knows more than she is letting on, another penned: “I think Bethany knows something too.”
Meanwhile, others think something far more sinister is at bay, theorising that Bethany was the one who murdered Lauren. One declared: “I think Bethany killed Lauren.”
A second agreed: “I would not be surprised if Bethany killed Lauren.” Someone else responded: “Agreed, did you just see the look she gave, I just said to my husband she’s killed Lauren.”
