Soap beauty to land ‘own reality show’ after ITV’s Drama Queens as it ‘makes sense’

A soap beauty could be sent to bag her own reality show, following the success of ITV’s Drama Queens.

The brand new ITV series kicked off last week and follows the lives of some of soap’s most famous actresses. The biggest names behind Emmerdale, Corrie and Hollyoaks have all come together for the fly-on-the-wall programme.

Those in the star-studded line-up include Laura Norton, Brooke Vincent, Rita Simons, Amy Walsh, Ellie Leach, Jorgie Porter, Roxy Shahidi, Jamelia, and Lucy Fallon. The stars will be opening the doors to their real lives, showing fans what they get up to away from soap studio.

In the first episode, viewers saw Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, clash with her beau Ryan Ledson over wanting more children. Meanwhile, Corrie star Ellie Leach also made an appearance – where she broke down in tears over a previous five-year relationship.

And it seems following Drama Queens’ success, one star of the programme could be landing her own reality show. Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, a PR expert told us how “it makes complete sense” that one soap beauty in particular could bag her very own show.

Dom Aldworth, Head of Brand Marketing at Slingo said: “There is potential for several stars to land an individual reality show once the series wraps. However, it’s clear that the audience is already really resonating with Ellie Leach’s personal story and overall candidness in front of the cameras.”

The expert noted how audiences already have “a long-standing relationship” with Ellie following her stint on Corrie as Faye Windass. Ellie played the role since she was just 10 years old.

Dom went on: “We then got to know her outside of her breakout role when she won Strictly Come Dancing in 2023. Audiences young and old fell in love with her down-to-earth personality.”

But the expert then claimed that it’s Ellie’s “personal story” since joining Drama Queens that has “really made her connect with viewers”.

Dom explained: “In the first episode alone, she’s been extremely candid on camera, discussing how press intrusion affected her mental health, in addition to the breakdown of her five-year relationship with her long-term boyfriend after he cheated on her. Something we saw her get extremely emotional about on camera with her mother.”

He then added how it’s “scenes like these” that “resonate” with viewers and “make her connect” with them. Dom went on: “With a bright future ahead of her following her huge profile increase after her Strictly win, it makes complete sense that Ellie could be in the running for a spin-off show once the series ends.”
