Si King has been inundated with support after promoting the Hairy Bikers’ new book, Fast and Fresh, on Instagram.
Taking to the account he shared with late co-star Dave Myers, the 57-year old appeared emotional in a video as he announced that the recipe book hos pal was “so proud of” was finally out today. Holding onto it tightly, he shared: “Hello everyone it’s Si here. Fast and Fresh from The Hairy Dieters is available tomorrow. Thank you if you pre-ordered, it’s hugely appreciated.”
Si continued: “It was a book that Dave and I really loved working on, so yeah there’s 80 delicious and easy recipes, easy as I know we’re all pushed for time these days. I don’t know how that happens but we just are aren’t we.”

Si went on to give an insight into the various recipes they had included and added: “It’s a lovely book and we had the greatest of joy working on it together. Dave was very proud of it, so here it is.”
He additionally thanked fans for their “continued support” which “doesn’t go unnoticed”. Concluding his post, he continued: “Lots of love and I hope you enjoy Fast and Fresh”, reports the Express.
Many of the pair’s 383,000 followers flocked to the comments section to share kind messages, as one wrote: “You are such a lovely guy. Dave was lucky to have you in his life too!” “A second commented: “Hope you’re holding up lad.”
“A third added: “Thinking of you Si and feeling the love for Dave strong as ever!” And a fourth said: “Sending you love Si could hear the sorrow in your voice. What a great legacy Dave leaves behind him. Take care.”
Their book was one of the final projects they collaborated on before Dave’s tragic passing at the age of 66 in February. Earlier this week, Si gathered with Liliana, Dave’s widow, and their family and friends for a heartfelt tribute night to celebrate his life.
Si remarked about the touching night, posting photos of the gathering: “We had a wonderful evening reminiscing about our dear friend and the room was filled with love as you’d expect Dave would have loved it.” A warm thank-you was extended to those who attended: “Thank you to all that could make it you made it very special.”
Dave lost his battle against cancer, something he bravely faced in 2022, which he publicly revealed during their Hairy Bikers – Agony Uncles podcast. He expressed his reasons for keeping his cancer situation private to The Guardian, mentioning his aversion to people conducting internet searches or offering unsolicited advice, stating: “I don’t want to be judged yet”.
At that point, he was midway through his chemotherapy regime and had temporarily paused filming for their show, The Hairy Bikers Go West.
