Coronation Street fans all say same thing as they ‘find’ missing Lauren in Weatherfield

Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve spotted Lauren Bolton back in Weatherfield.

The youngster, played by Cait Fitton, went missing back in February and Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is currently behind bars accused of murdering his former Roy’s Rolls employee.

During Wedneday’s (May 8) episode of the ITV soap, Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) , Max Turner (Paddy Beaver), Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) and Beth Tinker (Lisa George) gathered in the precinct to watch the police reconstruction of Lauren’s last known movements. Bethany noticed a crowd of people and was horrified to recognise groomer Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) amongst them.

As Bethany was confronted by a ghost from her past, viewers at home were distracted by the lookalike actress who stepped in to play Lauren in the reconstruction. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “For a minute I thought that was Lauren.” Another added: “Was that Lauren?” A third person said: “That WAS Lauren wasn’t it?” A fourth social media user said: “Wow that girl looks totally like Lauren I thought it was till I realised it’s part of a reconstruction.”

As Bethany struggled to contain her emotions, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) found Bethany at home clearly distressed. Bethany admitted that she’s convinced she spotted Nathan at the precinct. Daniel assured Bethany that Nathan was in prison and it was her mind playing tricks. Nicky Whiteley (Kimberly Hart Simpson) later called round and revealed that she was off to meet a girl called Ellie who was groomed as a teenager and might have information about Lauren.

There could be a turning point in the case next week, as spoilers reveal some text messages are unearthed. They could indicate what really happened to Lauren and who was involved, and it could certainly change everything. It’s not been revealed what is said in the messages and who has sent them to Lauren. Dee-Dee takes a call from the CPS informing her that they have some news regarding Lauren’s phone messages.

They’ve been analysed, and it seems there’s been a discovery linked to them – while viewers will have to tune in next week to find out that they mean. As Dee-Dee tells Roy’s loved ones Carla and Nina about the messages which have come to light, how will they react and could it it be good news for Roy?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
