Giovanni Pernice’s TV comeback ‘sealed’ after Strictly axe as he’s tipped for rival show

Giovanni Pernice could be signing up to a huge ITV show after being axed from Strictly.

The 33-year-old dancer has faced claims against his alleged teaching methods on the BBC show. He has denied allegations of “abusive or threatening” behaviour towards his female dancer partners on the show and has vowed to clear his name.

Giovanni has now left Strictly following reports of an internal ‘bullying’ probe being conducted by the BBC. However, the bookies are confident that he’ll be heading into the Jungle for a stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

Ladbrokes have it at just 3/1 that the axed Strictly star “swaps sequins for snakes” later and joins the line-up later in the year. Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “With Giovanni’s diary now wide open for the remainder of the year the odds firmly suggest we’ll be seeing him back on our screens as an I’m A Celeb campmate.”

It wouldn’t be the first time a Strictly star has taken part in an ITV reality show. This year, Nikita Kuzmin stepped into the Celebrity Big Brother house with the likes of Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.

Giovanni, who was partnered with Amanda Abbington on the latest series, previously took to Instagram to break his silence on the claims being made against him. It came following reports that Amanda, who left the show early, had complained about his conduct.

He wrote: “To my fans and followers, every week, there are totally untrue stories about me in the media. As you know, I have always rejected any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour.

“The latest accusations are simply false. I am cooperating fully with the ongoing BBC investigation, which will determine the truth. As requested, I have stayed silent, but I am looking forward to the conclusion of the investigation and ultimately clearing my name and establishing the truth.

Giovanni has denied allegations against his behaviour

“Thank you all for your continued support – your messages and love mean so very much to me. I will hopefully see many of you very soon and I look forward to clearing my name. With love, Giovanni.”
