Die-hard Rocky fans can now live out their ultimate dream as Sylvester Stallone’s ‘Old House’ has gone up on the market.
For $4.29 million (around £3.3 million), you could be the new owner of a luxurious mansion in New York. The four-bed, one-and-a-half bathroom property, which boasts a staggering 7,000 square feet, features a knockout sandstone pool and sauna – perfect for those post-match wind-downs.
The mansion, originally designed in 1969 by architectural icon Madderlake, was reportedly purchased from Stallone by the late author Barbara Kafta in 1999 before it was put on the market again in 2015. While the home’s listing doesn’t explicitly mention the Rocky star, celeb websites claim the 78-year-old lived here around 1988.

The grand property, now owned by Shea Spencer, founder of the Artist Comissions Agency, features a modern, contemporary design and offers 180-degree views of the Hudson River.
The house, which looks ultra modern from the outside, is mere minutes away from Metro-North and the Palisades Parkway and is just a 50-minute drive to Manhattan. It is currently up for sale with Real Estate Broker Abbie Carey – in case you were wanting to put it an offer – but you’ll need to act quick, as hot properties like this don’t stay on the market for long.
There’s a six-acre garden and a wrap-around deck for sunbathing if you’ve traded your boxing gloves in for gardening ones. Inside the home, light enters naturally through 10ft floor-to-ceiling windows, fitted with energy-efficient glass walls and doors. All of the rooms in the mega mansion have white-washed ceilings and a mix of rich woods and polished concrete, creating a sleek, minimalistic feel throughout.
You could soon be cooking up a storm in the chef-style kitchen, complete with maple cabinetry, oversized butcher block counters, a vintage farmhouse sink and an impressive skylight for natural light. Meanwhile, your guests can sit back and relax in the dining room next to the wood burning fireplace. Sliding glass doors open up onto the terrace if you’re in the mood for al fresco dining.
The living room boasts a huge marble fireplace and built-in TV, with low-rise grey sofas and an entire wall of windows to make the room room spacious and light. Again, the vibe of this room is very minimalistic, but there’s enough space for a punching bag or two. Upstairs, the primary suite bedrooms offers a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom, finished off with a spa bath and marble vanity unit. Other bedrooms are finished to the same standard, and feature your very own sauna.
Outside, the private garden makes room for a generous pool annex and sandstone pool with ‘sleek decor’, which again is lit up by a row of ceiling windows. You won’t need to worry about Manhattan traffic while you’re getting your laps in – as the mansion is set way back from the road and only reached by a long, scenic driveway.
