Dukes of Hazzard star Catherine Bach says she still wears her famous Daisy Duke shorts

Eighties TV sex symbol and Dukes of Hazzard star Catherine Bach claims she still wears her famous “Daisy Duke” shorts.

The actress boasted that she owns several pairs of the denim mini shorts, which she wore on the BBC1 show during its run from 1979 to 1985. And the 70-year-old Ohio model said she still enjoys the fashion accessory in private moments.

Bach, who played cousin Daisy to the wild troublemaking Duke boys in Hazzard county, hopes to reprise the role if scriptwriters managed to make a modern day spin off.

When asked whether fans would ever see her again in her Daisy Dukes, Bach smiled: “Only if you come to my house and watch me garden. Or at the beach. I’ll be honest, at the beach.”

She spoke at the wedding of her co-star John Schneider, and says she hopes the Bo Duke actor can manage to persuade Warner Brothers to allow him to reboot the series.

She said: “Well, you know, shows are a mystical thing at best, because you never know what’s going to work and how things are going to click. And you have to have a good writer. It can’t just be writing on an idea.”

Bach became one of the most famous women on the planet thanks to The Dukes of Hazzard. However, it took studio bosses over a year to convince her she would be right for Daisy Duke.

She added: “After I did my reading during the audition, there was total silence. I thought, ‘Oh no, they didn’t like what I did.’ Then everyone, we’re talking about 30 people, got up and started clapping.

“They just connected with my vision of how this part should be played. Two weeks later, I was on a plane to Georgia.”
