Sunday Brunch guest walks out of Channel 4 show early as host makes ‘bored’ dig

Sunday Brunch host Tim Lovejoy didn’t expect his guest to leave early.

The Channel 4 cooking show returned on Sunday (August 18) and took a hilariously awkward turn when Tim announced TV chef Tom Kerridge was shooting off. Tim and Simon Rimmer were joined by Vicky Pattinson, Jordan Stephens, Kerry Ellis and Pete Tong in the kitchen.

Rocker Frank Turner also performed, while Tom Kerridge cooked a delicious-looking burger in the kitchen before getting a grilling from Simon and Tim. Co-host Simon asked the chef, who regularly appears on the show: “You’re going now, aren’t you? You’re not staying for the show?”

Tom replied: “I’m off!'” When asked why, Tom replied: “That’s what time I was told I was going!”. The rest of the guests burst out laughing.

He continued: “12 shows in and I come up here, I do what I’m told then I go.” Tim cheekily suggested: “Maybe you got bored of coming,” prompting a laugh from Tom.

The Channel 4 show was halted last week after a guest swore live on air. Former Pop Idol winner Will Young was sharing an awkward moment at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival when he swore on the pre-watershed programme.

The singer revealed how a comedian at Edinburgh Fringe had ‘stopped’ her show after spotting him sat in the front row. He said: “The bulk of her show was about me, and obviously probably not very nice about me, and I was in the front row.”

“She said ‘I don’t know what to do because my show’s sort of taking the p*** out of Will Young and Will Young’s sitting at the front.” Host Tim had to step in to apologise for the language, saying: “I must apologise for using that word.”
