Amanda Holden gives warming message to Ruth Langsford after Eamonn Holmes split

Amanda Holden has given an empowering message to Ruth Langsford after splitting from Eamonn Holmes.

Amanda, 53, imparted the words of wisdom to the Loose Women presenter as she took to the airwaves on her breakfast show on radio station Heart. Presenting the show with co-host Jason King on Monday morning (September 9), the blonde bombshell had just four words to say to Ruth about her situation.

Ruth, 64, officially called it quits with former husband Eamonn, also 64, in May after 14 years of marriage and almost three decades of a relationship. This appeared to devastate Eamonn, who turned to relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, 44, for solace.

Since then, Eamonn and Katie are now officially an item and have been spotted together on numerous occasions, with Katie being papped entering Eamonn’s luxurious London pad. The pair are now on holiday in Spain, living it up in the last dregs of the summer sun in Barcelona.

Wading into the drama, Amanda gave her take on the situation, saying of Eamonn and Katie’s blooming relationship: “Well, I hope they have a lovely time.” She then revealed her message to Ruth on-air, insisting: “Ruth is looking amazing.”

She went on to add: “She’s looking smashing; she’s had a couple of hair extensions.” When co-host Jason chimed in and asked if the other woman was a relationship counsellor, she said yes, adding: “So maybe it’s not a relationship but he’s just having therapy onboard.”

The quip sent the hosts into a fit of laughter, before calming down and Jason explaining that they hoped that Eamonn and Katie were both happy together. They also wished the best for Ruth as she continues to grapple with her newfound singlehood.

Ruth shied away from the cameras following the announcement of their divorce, taking two months off both Loose Women and her shopping channel show. She made a brief return to screens in July before heading off again for some pre-booked time off, coming back at the end of August with a fresh ‘do and a fresh mind.

Eamonn and Katie’s relationship is continuing to go from strength to strength, after they first met on Twitter back in 2015. Since then, their friendship has turned romantic, with the couple being reported to have flown to Eamonn’s hometown of Carrickfergus earlier this year.

Following the split, though Eamonn was heartbroken, he was determined to continue his career – appearing on his GB News show just two days after the statement was released. Fans had initially become concerned for Eamonn and Ruth’s marriage, after it was discovered the pair had not been seen in public together for two years prior to their divorce.
