Liam Gallagher’s son Gene ‘excited’ to support dad as he lands huge Oasis role

Liam Gallagher ‘s son Gene is “excited” to support his dad at his Oasis reunion tour.

Gene, 23, is reportedly set to have a huge role in the tour, which gets underway next summer. It’s reported Gene will open the tour as a warm-up act, ahead of the band’s main performance across the UK and Ireland.

His band, Villanelle, is reported to be one of the support acts in the run-up to the large-scale concerts that will take place across five cities, including Dublin, London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and the band’s hometown of Manchester. According to MailOnline, the rockstar has confided in his friends and revealed his band would one of the lucky 10 acts to take on the role.

Speaking to the publication, a source close to Gene said that he is thrilled to land the role. “Gene is supporting Oasis,” the source claimed.

“He’s been telling a few people and he’s really excited,” the insider added. “He loves playing with his dad and knows it will be huge for his music career.”

Gene has musical blood coursing through his veins as his parents are both successful singers. Notorious hard lad Liam is Gene’s dad, whilst his mother is All Saints legend Nicole Appleton.

It is believed that Gene played a big part in bringing the feuding brothers back together ahead of the 30th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe. Previously, Liam and Noel had been at each other’s throats, refusing to see or speak to each other for 15 years.

But working with Noel’s daughter Anais, 24, the pair were able to get Noel and Liam back on speaking terms and eventually confirm the pair had gotten back together for the tour. As a result, next year will be the first time the pair have played together since V Festival in Staffordshire in 2009.

A source close to the band revealed that Liam’s mind was turned after he saw the appreciation for the group’s music by younger generations, including those who were not even born when the band unceremoniously broke up. “It hadn’t dawned on Noel and Liam until recently that their own kids had never properly seen them together – they didn’t want to wait until it was too late to show them why they are Britain’s biggest band,” the insider added.

Oasis’ gigs for next year’s tour sold out in a matter of hours, due to the immense demand to try and get tickets. However, for some fans – the joy of seeing the band came at the cost of their savings, due to the “dynamic pricing” fiasco that engulfed the scramble for tickets.

Tickets were initially set to cost £148.50 for general admission, but due to intense demand, the cost of tickets skyrocketed to £355.20. Following this, fans have demanded a refund for the difference between tickets – though Oasis have not commented on this themselves.
