P Diddy’s first prison meal after being denied £37m bail in ‘rat-infested’ jail

Fallen star Sean “Diddy” Combs has swapped his lavish dining experiences for prison grub.

Combs was nabbed in New York City earlier this week on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. On Wednesday, he made his second bail plea, with his legal team requesting a $50million (£37.7m) bail, but the prosecution deemed him a flight risk and rejected the application.

He’s currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) in Brooklyn, which also housed fellow disgraced rapper R. Kelly. It’s the city’s main federal detention centre – known for its varied dinner menu.

Combs will receive three meals a day, starting after his arraignment. The New York Post reports that the rapper was served Swedish Meatballs for his first dinner behind bars.

He also had the choice of a black bean burger but seemed to opt for the meatballs. Accompanying his meal were egg noodles, green beans, a garden salad, and a 16 oz drink.

Despite being fed thrice daily, the conditions are far from luxurious. In a bail motion on Tuesday, the 54-year-old’s lawyers argued: “Several courts in this District have recognised that the conditions at Metropolitan Detention Centre are not fit for pre-trial detention.”

The prison, notorious for its overflowing toilets, cockroach infestation and freezing temperatures following a fire that cut off heat to parts of the building, has previously housed gang members and mafiosos. It was also the jail where Jeffrey Epstein met his end.

Despite the grim conditions, the mogul has vehemently denied all allegations against him. Speaking to The Mirror US after the arrest, Marc Agnifilo, the attorney for Sean Diddy Combs, expressed disappointment with the decision to pursue what he believes is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the US Attorney’s Office.
