ITV star rushed to hospital after arm ‘fell off’ as they admit ‘it is horrific’

James Haskell has been rushed to hospital for surgery after he “ripped” his tendon off of the bone in his arm.

The former rugby ace said he was an “idiot” after hurting himself while filming some content. He told fans it involved a massive 109kg weight and that the bicep tendon “just snapped” off the bone on his left arm, making a “horrific” noise.

“F*****g hell what an idiot. I’m not even playing rugby anymore and my arm has fallen off!” he said in a video on Instagram.

James initially shared a snap that showed him in a hospital bed with his arm in a sling, telling fans he’d had an op and would be undergoing rehabilitation as a result of the injury. He later updated his followers in a video, sharing details of what happened.

“I realise I’ve put an ominous post up just of me in a sling,” said the former I’m A Celebrity camper. “I can’t even begin to tell you how f****** stupid is what’s happened, but essentially on Monday I ripped the bicep tendon off my bone on my left arm.

“I mean, I wasn’t even training, it was filming some content stuff and the first two times it was absolutely fine and the third time I changed my grip and I just ripped it off the bone. I don’t know what I thought, but essentially, without getting into details, I put 109kg through one arm and it just snapped and the sound of it is horrific.”

James – who shares two-year-old daughter Bodhi with his ex Chloe Madeley – went on: “But I’m in good hands, I’ve had surgery quickly, back on the rehab bus. I will track it obviously or show you what I am doing.

“I am going to still try and train when the would heals, I will still carry on with my body transformation albeit on one side… and I still DJ one handed!”

He continued: “I am going to try and do some hyperbaric chamber stuff… maybe some cryo when I am allowed to. I am going to keep track of my calories, I’m going to do everything I can do because if you don’t rehab this stuff properly it will come back to bite you in the a***.” He added that he was also going to have to make sure that Bodhi didn’t “dive” on it while he recovered.

James, 39, said he had also learned “some lessons” from the incident. “Certain levels of content is not for a nearly 40-year-old man!” he joked. “Stick to fighting, stick to Ju Jitsu, stick to lifting weights… stick to DJing, a lot safer!”

The star was inundated with get well soon messages from worried fans. “Wishing you a speedy recovery mate,” said one, as another posted: “Oh no! Feel better soon!!” “Poor baby!” said someone else.
