Harry Styles has spoken out following the death of his One Direction bandmate Liam Payne.
The news of Liam’s death was made public on 16 October. The ex-One Direction star was enjoying a holiday in Buenos Aires when he tragically fell from the third floor of a hotel.
Liam, who gained fame as one fifth of the globally renowned band, shot to stardom in 2011 after his appearance on The X Factor, where judge Simon Cowell grouped him with Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan.

On Thursday, a grief-stricken Harry took to Instagram to express his sorrow. “I am truly devastated by Liam’s passing,” he penned. “His greatest joy was making other people happy, and it was an honour to be alongside him as he did it”, reports the Mirror.
“Liam lived wide open, with his heart on his sleeve, he had an energy for life that was infectious. He was warm, supportive, and incredibly loving. The years we spent together will forever remain among the most cherished years of my life. I will miss him always, my lovely friend. My heart breaks for Karen, Geoff, Nicola and Ruth, his son Bear, and all those around the world who knew and loved him, as I did.”
In a heart-wrenching incident this week, Liam had a fatal fall from the third storey of a hotel in Buenos Aires. The scene outside the hotel was one of chaos, with police, fire brigades and ambulances swarming after the incident.
Reports suggest that the authorities were alerted to a man behaving aggressively at the premises, possibly under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. A grim discovery was made in the hotel’s inner courtyard where Liam’s body was found.
Alberto Crescenti, a spokesperson for the City ambulance service, stated that the victim had sustained “severe injuries which were incompatible with life.”
The local ambulance chief relayed to TN: “At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel.”
He continued: “At 17.11 a SAME team arrived and verified the death of this man and later we found out that he was a singer in a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries that were incompatible with life, as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death, there was no possibility of resuscitation.”
