Liam Payne toxicology report as star had ‘traces of Class A drug’ in his system

Argentine media reports suggest traces of cocaine were found in the body of Liam Payne, as revealed by forensic experts.

An autopsy conducted after his death last Wednesday suggested the presence of the class-A drug in his system, according to Infobae. However, official police tests on a white powder discovered in his hotel room have so far been “inconclusive”. The results of a second test using chromatography, a sophisticated analytical separation technique, are still pending.

Liam’s father, Geoff, is currently in Argentina to expedite the repatriation of his son’s body. However, he has reportedly been informed that he will not be able to transport it back to the UK until the cause of the 31 year old’s death is “scientifically” confirmed.

Although no specific timeline has been provided, he has been warned the wait could extend up to two weeks. The Buenos Aires police have yet to officially comment on the Infobae reports and it remains uncertain if they will do so, reports the Mirror.

Prosecutor Marcelo Roma, who has labelled Liam’s death at the Hotel CasaSur Palermo Hotel as “inconclusive” following his fall from a third-floor balcony, has received all the results thus far. The One Direction star tragically died at the age of 31 last Wednesday in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

It has been revealed Liam’s body is likely to stay in Argentina for approximately 10 to 15 days, until the toxicological test results are available. Once the investigation concludes, the late singer’s remains will be returned to his family and flown back to England, as per local media reports.

It’s been reported that Liam had over 20 injuries at the time of his death, with forensic experts stating that “the 25 injuries described in the autopsy are compatible with those caused by a fall from a height”.

As more distressing details come to light, South American publication Merco Press has suggested investigators believe high-end drug dealers catering to the rich and famous may have played a role in the singer’s death.

The insider went on to say: “The cleaner and another member of staff have been interviewed by the police. Liam was doing everything to stay clean but as soon as he got to the hotel these people were offering him alcohol and drugs.”

Liam had jetted off to the country with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, to catch his former bandmate Niall Horan’s gig. He reportedly had to extend his Argentina trip after his US visa application was initially turned down.
