Channel 4 has pulled a new episode of Dispatches and postponed, leading viewers scratching their heads.
The award-winning documentary programme, known for exposing corruption and wrongdoing. Last year, one of its specials accused actor and comedian Russell Brand of sexual assaulting multiple women – claims he has strongly refuted.
A new episode of the current affairs show was due to air on Saturday night (October 26) at 8:10pm. However, the programme was pulled from Channel 4’s schedule just hours before airing, prompting viewers to wonder what on earth was going on.

Some even suggested at trouble behind the scenes, claiming something was “brewing”. In its place, viewers will see Little Trains and Big Names with Pete Waterman, while the Dispatches special has been pushed back until 2 November.

This abrupt schedule change has sparked speculation about why the episode was temporarily shelved. A bewildered viewer asked: “@C4Dispatches it is so suspect that you’ve pulled the program tonight and that it wasn’t indicated what the content was.”
A second on X, formerly Twitter asked: “Does anyone know what the mysterious Channel 4 ‘Dispatches Special’ on the tv guide tonight is about? “. Another fan pointed out: “The second time it’s been rescheduled. Something is brewing! “.

One suggested: “A last minute legal hurdle” might be the reason behind the postponed episode of Dispatches. Meanwhile, another viewer suggested that the rescheduled air date is not set in stone, taking to social media to say: “#Dispatches Next Saturday 2 November 8.10pm. @C4Dispatches *subject to change.”, reports the Mirror.
Channel 4 describes Dispatches as “an ongoing series of investigative and topical documentaries” covering a wide array of subjects from politics and health to international affairs and environmental issues. The first episode, which aired on October 30, 1987, delved into the shady dealings of the black market in weapons-grade uranium based in Khartoum.
The forthcoming episode, now slated for 2 November, is simply billed as: “A Dispatches special investigation.” A recent instalment targeted the popular second-hand clothing network Vinted.
This particular special, named Vinted’s Dirty Laundry: Dispatches, was promoted by Channel 4 with the words: “The online secondhand clothes app Vinted is booming. Is its soar-away success too good to be true? Dispatches uncovers the truth behind some of the products sold on the platform.”
