Mandalorian star had throat ripped out in horror cameo left on cutting room floor

A star from the Mandalorian series had her throat ripped out in horror cameo, but it was left on the cutting room floor.

Rosario Dawson made a guest appearance as an ill-fated nurse in Rob Zombie’s 2005 movie The Devil’s Rejects. However, Dawson’s brief showing – and quick ending – in the gory flick never made the light of day. The film follows the violent and deadly Firefly family as they evade the police in the aftermath of its predecessor, House of 1000 Corpses.

It is filled with intense violence, bloodshed, and a lot of disturbing scenes throughout its 109-minute run.

In the movie Dawson plays a nurse named Marsha who cares for an unseen patient in a hospital ER. Nurse Marsha briefly flirts with a cop, but no sooner does he walk away than the patient reaches up, grabs her by the neck, and rips her throat apart.

The Devil’s Rejects was crammed full of intense violence, bloodshed and disturbing scenes

The cop and and other nearby officers unsuccessfully attempt to pull him off her. Marsha is left laying in a pool of her own blood.

Her killer is revealed to be Dr Satan, a deranged physician who played a significant role in Zombie’s previous film.

Dawson’s close encounter with Dr Satan

Although great shock value, Zombie decided that bringing the character back for the sequel wasn’t a good idea, and didn’t fit with the tone of the movie.

He even compared having Dr Satan in The Devil’s Rejects to casting Chewbacca in a film like Bonnie and Clyde. As a result the subplot was cut, along with Dawson’s scene.

Fortunately, the scenes were included in the DVD extras.

In 2020 Dawson was cast as the Star Wars character Ahsoka Tano in the second season of The Mandalorian on Disney+ and reprised the role in The Book of Boba Fett and the spinoff miniseries, Ahsoka.

In 2022, she reprised her role as Becky for Clerks III.
