I’m A Celebrity 2024 chaos as ITV camp ‘infested’ with ‘flesh-eating’ critters

The I’m A Celebrity cast could be contending with some flesh-eating creatures in camp this year.

It seems the camp is bracing for a real-life Bushtucker Trial just days before the new series of the ITV show kicks off as leeches threaten to squirm their way into the New South Wales camp. According to The Sun, the jungle could be ‘flooded’ with these blood-sucking worms following predicted storms in the area.

The show is set to start on Sunday 17 November, when storms have been forecast. The storms and floods risk the possibility of leeches in the camp, along with giant earthworms, which rise out of soil to the surface when in heavy rain, reports OK!. This could limit access to the waterfall and creek as it becomes ripe for infestation.

It comes after reports poisonous cane toads have hopped into the vicinity, with a source claiming to The Mirror: “As if there weren’t enough things for the campers to worry about like spiders, snakes and ticks, now it looks like they’ll have to keep an eye out for armies of these poisonous pests. They love ponds so the jungle creek and even the famous shower area will need to be monitored closely.”

Cane toads release toxins that can be harmful to human health – the poison can cause heart, breathing and blood pressure issues if it gets in contact with your eyes or gets swallowed. This year’s rumoured celeb cast includes WAG Coleen Rooney, musician Danny Jones, dance sensation Oti Mabuse, telly pundit Jane Moore, radio host Dean McCullough, N-Dubz star Tulisa, boxing legend Barry McGuigan, presenter Melvin Odoom, Corrie’s Alan Halsall, Love Island’s Maura Higgins, Rev Richard Coles and influencer GK Barry.

GK Barry’s recent podcast has reportedly sparked ‘crisis talks’ with ITV after the 25-year-old content creator invited adult star Bonnie Blue onto her show, Saving Grace. The guest caused a stir by revealing her sexual experiences with “barely legal” university students during Freshers Week, which she then shared on OnlyFans.

GK is under fire for allowing such discussions, with fans slamming the move as “harmful” to her young followers and accusing her of glorifying risky behaviour.

Disgruntled fans have blasted her online after she deleted the episode. One wrote: “Now she has deleted the videos from the Saving Grace TikTok account without even acknowledging the damage she has done… I am so so disappointed in her.”

Another added: “This is beyond disgraceful.”
