Emmerdale star Mike Parr was taken to hospital after hallucinating for four days.
The 38-year-old actor plays Ross Barton in the ITV soap, who recently struggled to reconnect with his son Moses. Ross is terrified in upcoming scenes when he finds April dangling over the edge of a multi-storey car park.
Mike was filming for a Bollywood production in India when his health took a horrifying turn. Mike was rushed to hospital with suspected Legionnaire’s disease after a colleague found him in his hotel room.

The star explained that his colleague found him in a bad way as he’d been hallucinating in the hotel room for four days and lost a lot of weight. Mike told the Mirror: “I dropped about 20lb in four days and my cheekbones were starting to protrude.

“I’d been in my room hallucinating for four days. I didn’t know what was going on. I was delirious. I’m a massive chess player and I was so out of it I kept thinking I was a chess piece.”
He was dangerously dehydrated, so doctors gave him electrolytes that made him sick and put him on a drip. “Being taken to hospital in a foreign country is always scary, but especially when you can’t communicate with the doctors,” he added.

Legionnaire’s disease is a lung infection you can get from inhaling droplets of water that are contaminated with bacteria. Symptoms include coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain and flu-like symptoms.
The hospital dash came just two months after he was left bedridden by a back injury he feared would end his acting career. Mike had been trying to keep fit at the gym when he crushed a nerve and badly injured a disc in his lower back.
The actor, who first appeared in Emmerdale from 2013 to 2018, said the ordeal was “terrifying” and that it was “by far the worst pain I’ve felt in my entire life”. He said the back injury “froze” him and that he couldn’t move – it even impacted his breathing.
