Singing sensation Susan Boyle has opened up about her health following a major stroke as she shared her plans for 2025 and said she is ‘determined to keep going’
Scottish singer Susan Boyle has expressed her determination to continue pursuing her career, unveiling her plans for 2025 just three years after experiencing a severe stroke. The 63-year-old, who gained fame in 2009 following her appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, stated that she is now feeling better and is “ready to go”.
After suffering a stroke in 2022, Susan revealed that she “had to fight” her way back to recovery.
She said: “It’s taken me three years and it’s been hard – I’m not going to pretend otherwise but it’s made me determined to keep going.”

Susan resumed singing lessons as soon as she felt strong enough after her stroke and confessed her excitement for the upcoming year, which includes working on a documentary and a drama.
In an interview with STV’s What’s on Scotland, Susan told news presenter Laura Boyd: “There’s a documentary and I’ve got a drama coming up. Hopefully, a tour – my feet won’t touch the ground, really.”
Discussing the drama, Susan expressed her desire to see Olivia Coleman portray her, describing Coleman as “she seems like a happy kind of person”, reports the Mirror.
Susan’s life underwent a significant transformation after her BGT audition of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ propelled her to global fame.
Reflecting on that period, she said: “It was overnight because one minute I was watching it with my brother, and the next, there were these screaming kids at the door. I opened the door, and they were asking for my autograph.”
“It was a bit of a whirlwind because you never think you’re going to get anywhere, and then all of a sudden, bang!”
She’s determined to “keep going for as long as I can” revealing her “bucket list is overflowing”.
The songstress is also gearing up to enjoy a cosy Christmas with family, saying: “It is about being with people you love, and that matters more than anything.”
Susan Boyle, whose first album ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ hit global fame with over 10 million sales, has earned a fortune of £22million in her career. Yet, she’s known for shunning the glitz of celeb life, once confessing to Piers Morgan that she lives on a modest weekly allowance of £300-500.
Chatting to Piers back in 2010, she said she was learning the ropes like using a taxi and insisted: “I don’t flash the cash.”
When quizzed by Piers about splurging on a flashy Lamborghini, she adorably questioned: “Is that a drink? No fancy cars, no.”
Boyle is savvy with her funds, admitting: “I’m always careful with money. I’m not saying I’m mean, but I’m always careful. I have an allowance, it’s about £300-500 a week because that’s plenty for me. It’s pocket money.”
