Taylor Swift was booed by Super Bowl fans as she popped up on the big screen for all to see during the hotly-anticipated game at Ceasars Superdrome in New Orleans on Sunday
Taylor Swift was met with boos from Super Bowl fans when she appeared on the big screen during Sunday night’s wild game at Ceasars Superdrome in New Orleans.
The Shake It Off singer, who has been the target of Kanye West’s recent online attacks, attended the massive US sporting event to cheer on her NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kelce’s team were up against the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl. Eagles fans at Caesars Superdome didn’t hold back their disapproval when Taylor, 35, was shown on the big screen during the match.
Kelce, the Chiefs’ tight end, was aiming for his fourth Super Bowl ring and a third consecutive win, this time against Jalen Hurts’ Eagles team. When Swift first appeared on the stadium’s screen in the opening quarter, the crowd’s boos were loud and clear, leaving Swift visibly surprised as she shot a nervous look at her friend, Ice Spice, next to her.
Taylor then smiled and laughed off the uncomfortable moment. Body language expert Judi James has now given her take on Taylor’s response to the booing from hundreds of fans.
The expert suggests that while Taylor managed to ‘laugh off’ the harsh reaction to her Super Bowl appearance, it would have stung her deep down, reports the Mirror.
“Taylor seemed to be copying the iconic Ryan Gosling’s side-eye gesture at the Critic’s Choice Awards here, with her ‘What?’ ritual of distrust, shock and bewilderment, but where Gosling had just won an award, Taylor had just been booed on the Jumbotron, straight after Trump got cheers,” Judi commented.
“Taylor took the crowd response in good spirits, retaining her seated body pose next to buddy Ice Spice and not throwing any hint of a diva strop. She managed to smile and subtly laugh it off, but this is not quite her first rodeo as she did get the odd boo when she was first dating Travis and the fans were worried she’d put him off his game,” she continued.
It follows that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell answered complaints before the previous Super Bowl in Vegas, lensed by Swift as the Chiefs triumphed over the 49ers in a cliffhanger overtime showdown. Probed about whether Swift’s fling with Kelce was a play for more NFL watchers, Goodell debunked any manipulation: “I don’t think I’m that good (of) a scripter or anybody on our staff,” he asserted.
“There’s no way that I could have scripted that one.”
Goodell also lauded Swift’s star quality: “She’s a remarkable performer. She knows great entertainment. I had the opportunity to go to two of her concerts with our girls and my wife, she’s the best of the best. So, having her come to NFL games, (to) have her (be) part of that is nothing but a positive light.”
“Taylor is obviously a dynamo. Everything she touches… there are people following and so, we count ourselves fortunate and we welcome it.”
