Geordie Shore star Scotty T has been banned from driving after he was caught on cocaine behind the wheel.

The 36-year-old Celeb Big Brother winner has been open about his struggles with cocaine and has been to rehab. The reality star is famed for appearing in the boozy MTV hit with the likes of Vicky Pattison and Gaz Beadle and recently for the new series.

However, he’s now been banned from the roads for drug driving. Scotty T, real name Scott Timlin, was pulled over in his Land Rover Discovery in Kenton, Newcastle on October 18 last year and was found to be three times over the cocaine limit.

He appeared at Newcastle’s magistrates’ court on Monday (February 3) and pleaded guilty to two counts of driving with a controlled drug above the specified limit. According to prosecutors, the reality star had 32 micrograms of cocaine per litre of blood in his system (the legal limit is 10 micrograms).

He also had 800 micrograms of BZE per litre of blood (the legal limit is 50 micrograms). The TV personality had provided a blood sample which tested positive for cocaine and Benzoylecgonine, a breakdown product of the drug.

The Geordie Shore star, who in 2019 was declared bankrupt with a debt of £147,000, was fined £330 and handed a 12-month driving ban. He was also required to pay £85 in legal costs.

Scotty first appeared on Geordie Shore back in 2012. He was axed from the show in 2018, reportedly due to drugs, but he later said he turned down a return to the show because of the new cast members.

He told Daily Star at the time: “They asked me to go back to Geordie Shore last series but I said no. I preferred to present Just Tattoo of Us with Charlotte and have a laugh and just be myself.

“I would go back for a cameo to show my face and remind them who is the boss – but I wouldn’t go back full time. Especially not with some of the new cast, who are just divs.”

Scotty T said he previously used cocaine on a daily basis and did so partly to cope with the grief he suffered following the death of his stepfather and four close friends.

He told The Sun: “‘I was overthinking things and my anxiety was through the roof. I couldn’t even leave the house, it was horrible. To cope I’d have cocaine. It helps me focus and concentrate.

“I was using it every day when I was off the rails and doing PAs up and down the UK – sometimes I was doing three in one day. I didn’t know how else to cope.”
