Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has released a video along with her boyfriend after the pair received some devastating health news about their unborn twins
Jesy Nelson has broken down in tears over her unborn twins.
The former Little Mix star posted an emotional video on her Instagram and informed her fans that she has been diagnosed with pre-twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. This means that one or both of her babies are unfortunately at risk of dying.
In the video alongside her boyfriend Zion Foster, Nelson addressed fans and told them she is having scans twice a week to monitor what is going on.
She told the camera: “We wanted to let you in on our journey of what we’ve been going through. So we are having identical twins which is so exciting – we cannot believe it!”
“But, unfortunately, there are complications that come with having identical twins. The type of twins we are having are called mono/di twins and so normally most twins will have two placenta’s that they feed off of.”
Jesy said that when the twins “live off one placenta,” it can “lead to complications”. She continued: “One of them being, one baby might take all the nutrients which, and it’s really awful to say, but could lead to both babies dying.”
She went on to say that she is currently in “pre-stage TTTS,” which she described as “twin-to-twin-transfusion”.
“The current situation is that every time I’ve gone it has got a little bit worse but we are just hoping and praying for the best.”
Nelson said that the pair are “blessed” with their two children and as she began to well up, the singer said she was “getting upset”. Her beau reached over to give her a comforting embrace as she battled through the tears.
“”It’s just really sad that it does come with these complications. We had no clue that this kind of thing happens when you have twins. We just really wanna raise awareness about this.”
Jesy promised her followers that she would keep them updated and asked them to pray for everyone’s health.
