Singer Danny Jones has appeared on The One Show alongside his McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher alongside Queen Camilla, days after he was filmed kissing Maura Higgins
McFly’s Danny Jones has been spotted for the first time since he was caught on camera ‘kissing’ his I’m A Celebrity… campmate Maura Higgins at a BRIT Awards bash.
The 38-year-old singer is seen in snaps alongside bandmate Tom Fletcher, funnyman Matt Lucas and JLS star JB Gill, as they had a chat with Queen Camilla.
This encounter is set to be broadcast on tonight’s episode of The One Show, just days after married Danny was filmed sharing a ‘drunken kiss’ with 34-year-old Maura at a post-BRITs party. Danny’s appearance, which was pre-recorded, shows him and Tom meeting Queen Camilla to mark the BBC 500 Words children’s writing competition at Buckingham Palace.
Last week, Danny was among several celebs invited to the palace, including stars from BBC’s The Gladiators, causing the Queen to chuckle during their conversation. The footage of Danny’s Royal encounter will be shown on tonight’s The One Show, in a special World Book Day episode.
The special show, dubbed 550 Words with The One Show, will celebrate the finale of the writing contest at Buckingham Palace. Celebrities such as Olivia Colman and McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones will read out the six winning original short stories.
This TV appearance comes hot on the heels of Danny, who is wed to Georgia Horsley, being filmed sharing a passionate kiss with Love Island’s Maura at a BRIT Awards afterparty, reports the Mirror.
Danny and Maura were spotted at the same bash as celebs like Sam Thompson, Pete Wicks, Olivia Attwood, Calum Scott and Oti Mabuse. Despite attending the awards at the O2 Arena with his McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher, Danny was the only member of his band to show up at the glamorous afterparty, where he and Maura seemed to get quite cosy.
Since the shocking video surfaced, Danny, Maura and his wife Georgia have kept quiet on the issue – with Georgia later breaking her silence to discuss parenting in a recent episode of her podcast. Georgia, who has since withdrawn from an upcoming public event due to feeling ‘humiliated’, is reportedly having crisis talks with the McFly singer.
It’s suggested that the couple are “eager to move on” from the scandal after discussing Danny’s cheeky kiss. “This saga has been embarrassing and Danny had a lot of explaining to do,” a source revealed.
Speaking to The Sun, a source claimed Danny and Georgia – who have reportedly stayed away from their London home amid the scandal – have spoken about the kiss. “They are eager to just move past it and get on with their lives,” the insider claims.
“They’ve been away for a few days and they are focused on being a family unit. Danny and Georgia are both committed to each other and are moving on with their lives.”
