Rosie Webster actress Helen Flanagan has hinted that she could reprise her Coronation Street role in a return to Weatherfield – and even has a comeback plot figured out
Helen Flanagan has hinted that she could be set for a dramatic Coronation Street comeback.
The actress made her name playing Rosie Webster on the cobbles, and in the past has made it clear that she is open to a return to Weatherfield. She has now shared that she would “love to go back” – and even has a return plot worked out.
Helen started on the ITV soap in 2000 but left in 2012, before reprising the role in 2016 for a brief spell. She was last seen on the cobbles in 2018.
The blonde is now a single mum to her three young children after splitting from her long-term love Scott Sinclair three years ago.
However, she has settled down in Bolton, which is close to where the soap is made in Salford, so is confident she could juggle it.
“I would love to go back to Coronation Street,” the actress told the Mirror. Helen added: “I’m at home in Bolton which means I will be able to work around the kids.”
The star, 34, even has a storyline in mind for Rosie if she was to return. “A single mum with a real storyline, with two kids that she dumps with Sally to have her Rovers return play out an iconic barmaid role,” she teased.
Helen had been with footballer Scott for several years before they split up. They first got together in 2009 and got engaged after he popped the question in 2018, although they never made it down the aisle.
They broke up in 2022 and are now co-parenting their three children – daughters Matilda, nine, and Delilah, six, and son Charlie, three.
In the last few years Helen has done more reality TV show appearances than acting, popping up on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip and signing up for a stint in the jungle in I’m A Celebrity… South Africa.
She also did Celebs Go Dating, where she dipped her toe back into the dating pool following her break up, and took part in game show The Wheel.
