Injured Dancing On Ice finalists ‘pushed to limit’ and constantly on painkillers

The 2025 Dancing On Ice finalists are gearing up to skate their last routine, but they’re in some serious pain and receiving round the clock “physio and painkillers”

Dancing On Ice contestants are black and blue ahead of the final.

Michaela Strachan, Anton Ferdinand and Sam Aston have been in agony and are receiving round the clock physio and medication to help deal with their aches and pains. The cast are struggling behind the scenes on the skating contest because the training is so tough.

They’ve been pushing their bodies to the limit in a bid to secure victory in tomorrow’s final [9 March]. Former footballer Anton said: “My body can’t really do anymore. I’ve been pushed to my tether with flexibility.

“We have a fantastic physio who is patching us all back up, which is needed.”

Springwatch host Michaela also discussed the ordeal: “All three of us are looking forward to giving our bodies a break. Physio and Ibuprofen are our friends.”

All three of them are battling injuries after tumbles on the ice and Corrie star Sam confessed he’s been struck down by the pain: “I’d never had problems with my knees before doing this show, but now they’re both aching.”

Michaela added: “I pulled a muscle in my glutes. It hurts to walk. I’ve also got bruises on my thigh, ribs and shoulder. My body looks like a checkers board.”

Anton then chimed in with his woes ahead of the final episode: “This week it feels like my body has been put through a football pre-season. It is in turmoil.

“The intensity has gone up because it’s the final.”

Dancing On Ice’s 2025 series saw Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern present alongside each other. For one episode, Holly dressed as Glinda from Wicked and public outcry ensued.

She was slammed for her “unsuitable” dress with a low neckline that showed some cleavage. Someone wrote: “Holly’s dress is a bit much for a family show,” while another branded her a “show off” for the dramatic look.
