Danny Jones’ wife Georgia is reportedly ‘frustrated’ with the way he handed the situation after a video appeared to show him sharing a brief kiss with Maura Higgins
Danny Jones’ wife Georgia reportedly feels he has “shown a different side to his character” amid the Maura Higgins kiss saga.
Former I’m A Celebrity campmates Danny and Maura have been at the centre of a storm after footage on The Sun appeared to show them locking lips in a quick kiss at a BRITS after-party in London, with a source saying: “Danny and Maura seemed to be having a great time. They looked like they had a brief drunken kiss.”
It was then reported that they both went on separately to another event at the Nobu Hotel in Marylebone, with a second video showing them together at the industry party, holding wineglasses.
McFly star Danny addressed it days later, saying on his Instagram Story that he wanted to “deeply apologise to my wife and family” for putting them in the situation and that they would continue to deal with the matter “privately”.
However, it has been reported that Georgia – who has been married to Danny since 2014 – is staying with a friend following the incident.
According to the Daily Mail, the former Miss England is “frustrated” with the way the singer handled the situation.
A friend was quoted as saying: “It has gone beyond his kiss with Maura. He has shown a different side to his character. Georgia has been frustrated with his priorities throughout the whole sordid saga. At every step, he has chosen to protect his own career over the feelings of his family.”
A friend also said it has been “overwhelming” for Georgia, who shares seven-year-old son Cooper with Danny, and that she “needs time to process what has happened”.
Maura and Danny became friendly when they were both campers on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year, which saw Danny crowned King of the Jungle.
There is no suggestion that they are romantically linked, or that the apparent “kiss” they shared was anything more than something between friends.
Addressing the situation on Instagram on March 14, the McFly star wrote: “Hello everyone. Sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me.
“I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.
“I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding and support,” he continued. “See you all soon, Danny.”
Former Love Island beauty Maura has not publicly addressed the alleged kiss.
