The Met Gala’s blue carpet was the centre of attention, but some big names were conspicuously missing.
The glitzy event made a glamorous comeback on Monday, May 5, at its legendary venue – the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. It attracted a host of massive celebrities, including Kylie Jenner, who dazzled on the carpet, but she strutted solo without her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet.
The 27-year-old mum of two – who has Stormi, six, and Aire, three, from her previous relationship with Travis Scott – has been romancing the 29 year old actor since 2023 and the pair are typically seen together at major events. However, this wasn’t the case this time.
With Justin Bieber skipping the event to watch a hockey match – leaving Hailey Bieber to grace the red carpet alone – it appeared to be a night of no-shows, as the Wonka star also decided to stay home, watching the Knicks game instead.
Chalamet took to his Instagram Stories on Monday night, sharing a snap of his iPad streaming Game 1 of the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Knicks and Celtics. He also posted a selfie surrounded by mates, all engrossed in the action together, reports the Mirror US.
Meanwhile, Jenner immediately turned heads in a sheer Ferragamo corset dress that featured a thigh-high leg slit, which paid tribute to the night’s Superfine: Tailoring Black Style theme – and completed the look with matching opera gloves and a wrap.
Despite everything, the smitten pair only have eyes for each other, ramping up their public outings recently and not shying away from a bit of PDA. They’ve been spotted looking loved-up at numerous glitzy events over the past couple of years, including a recent Lakers match where they were practically inseparable, cosied up courtside.
Fans lapped it up, with one commenting on the snaps: “Kylie is sooooo in love and looks so happy. Love this for her,” Another added: “Kylie and Timmy are so cute. They’re always all over one another.
“Truth be told, Kylie is glowing. Timmy must make her so happy,” chimed in another. This comes after Kylie sent her followers into meltdown by sharing a string of snaps, one standout being her donning a skimpy black bikini teamed with a New York Knicks cap.
The hat seemed to be a cheeky nod to Timothée’s well-known passion for the team, a reference he made last month at a game, fuelling rumours that they’re fully immersing themselves in their shared hobbies.
