Ellen DeGeneres has undergone a dramatic transformation since moving to the UK and has now ditched her signature blonde hair for a new look to suit her new lifestyle
You’d be forgiven for not recognising Ellen DeGeneres nowadays.
The American comedian seems to be loving her new life in England and is sporting a fresh look that’s a far cry from her usual style.
67 year old Ellen recently shared a video of herself beaming with joy after swapping her iconic platinum locks for a darker hairdo. After moving to the UK post-Trump’s election last November, the chat show star took to Instagram to post herself mowing the lawn.
Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi had to switch homes near Oxfordshire when their initial Cotswolds residence suffered serious flood damage soon after settling in.
In the video, Ellen can be seen perched on a bright yellow lawn mower showing off her new brunette transformation, reports the Mirror.
She steers the mower across a large field beneath before switching to Ellen getting assistance as the mower conks out on a tricky incline.
Ellen captioned the post: “Portia thought it would be fun to film my first time on the mower. She was right.”
In January, former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson revealed that Ellen and her wife often visit his pub The Farmer’s Dog in Oxfordshire.
He said: “She lives in the village where our pub is. Absolutely, I welcome them all. Everyone said she has been cancelled but she seemed nice when she came to the pub, the staff said she was very friendly and lovely.”
“I am not going to believe what I read online. She seemed lovely.”
A source previously spoke to the Daily Mail about her decision to relocte: “With all the ill will towards her, she was looking to move away even before the election. And as things panned out with Trump winning, she is glad she is making the move and going to be away from the US.”
The source added that Ellen had the support of her wife, Portia and was ready to leave behind those she feels abandoned her: “She has the one person that still loves her, Portia, and she is ready to leave everyone who in her mind left her hanging out to dry. If she considers it her retirement, so be it.”
