Daily Star’s Ed Gleave checks out the Love Island’s sexy sun soaked villa in Majorca, before the new series kicks off -‘it’s been stocked with plenty of pricey treats’
Love Island’s villa is very hot indeed. I got to visit the luxury pad in Majorca and I was shocked by just how warm it was. The compound is a sun trap with very little wind to cool you down.
And the outdoor areas have very little shade. It’s no wonder the contestants often walk around in their swimwear. Thankfully it’s very cool inside the villa.
The bedrooms, dressing rooms and Hideaway are all lovely and chilled with air conditioning blasting. The contestants can also look forward to enjoying the high life during their time in the TV villa because it’s been stocked with plenty of pricey treats.
There are expensive toiletries and beauty products from Elemis and Champneys as well as designer gear from eBay.
And they’ll all get to feel like A List celebs as they villa has been given a makeover so it looks a bit like a Beverly Hills hotel. The decor has been made to look more chic and beanbags have been replaced by stylish seating.
This villa is my type on paper.
Toiletries and beauty products aren’t the only items in the villa contestants will be able to play with, as Love Island bosses have made a big change to the show’s villa to make the new series the hottest in history.
A new intimate area has been added to the outdoor section for contestants to enjoy. It is a trampoline across the swimming pool that has capacity for four people to be on at the same time.
It has been added to encourage the sexy singletons to get close. Executive producer Mike Spencer-Hayter predicts there will be some racy behaviour on it.
He told the Daily Star: “The trampoline is nice. You can all sit there and enjoy the sun. You can see everything from there, so you can see what’s going on.
“I don’t think you would have sex on there, but it can take the weight of four people. But you can gossip or get off with each other.”
In a surprising move, bosses are planning to air any saucy antics that happen on the trampoline. Mike said: “If that happens, we show it. The trampoline is a lovely place to canoodle.”
Bosses also plan to open the villa’s Hideaway for 24 hours a day. It means couples can get away from their rivals if they want to.
