Lily Allen has confessed that she can’t recall the exact number of abortions she’s had. The singer made the startling revelation while chatting with her best mate Miquita Oliver about birth control.

The 40-year-old star’s shocking admission came during their Miss Me? podcast. Lily described her reproductive system as a “complete disaster area” and claimed she would fall pregnant “all the time”.

While discussing contraception, Lily said: “I just remember I have an IUD [contraceptive coil] now. I think I’m on my third, maybe fourth, and I just remember before that it was a complete disaster area.”

She then added: “Yeah, I’d get pregnant all the time, all the time,” which led to Miquita, 41, expressing surprise at learning her best friend had previously terminated a pregnancy, reports the Mirror.

In a light-hearted moment, Lily began to sing Frank Sinatra’s My Way, altering the lyrics to: “Abortions I’ve had a few… but then again… I can’t remember exactly how many.”

She then laughed as she tried to recall the exact number, saying: “I can’t remember. I think maybe like, I want to say four or five.”

This confession prompted Miquita to share her own experience, stating: “I’ve had about five too!” She continued: “Lily, I’ve never. I’m so happy I can say that, and you can say it, and no one came to shoot us down, no judgment. We’ve had about the same amount of abortions.”

As the conversation progressed, Lily revealed that a former boyfriend had once paid for her to have an abortion, something she thought was “so romantic” at the time.

Miquita countered: “I actually think that is romantic! Do you not think that’s romantic?” which prompted Lily to retort: “Am I an idiot? What? Getting rid of the problem?”

Miquita, however, took a different view, suggesting: “No but if you’re both like ‘let’s not do this. I don’t want it no neither do I, I don’t have any money well I can sort that out…'” Drawing on her own experience, she added that she felt “very excited” after her first abortion, saying: “I felt like I was like a woman.”

Lily later expressed her frustration at having to justify terminating a pregnancy. “It actually irritates me, and I’ve said it before on the record,” she stated.

She explained that she was annoyed by people feeling the need to share extraordinary reasons for having an abortion, citing examples of memes she had seen on Instagram from pro-abortion accounts. “I’ve seen memes going around sometimes, on Instagram from pro-abortion accounts or whatever, whenever this conversation comes up, and suddenly you start seeing people posting things about extraordinary reasons for having an abortion.

“Like: ‘My aunt had a kid that had this disability,’ or whatever, ‘if she went full term it was going to kill her, so we have to.’ It’s like, shut up! Just: ‘I don’t want a f****** baby right now.’ Literally: ‘Don’t want a baby’ is enough reason.”
