The fashion influencer was left unimpressed by the gig at Heaton Park and the city of Manchester as she brands the recent Oasis concert “the filthiest concert I’ve ever been to”
A social media influencer has triggered a backlash online after sharing a video in which she labelled the recent Oasis concert “the filthiest concert I’ve ever been to” she’s ever attended.
The reunion gig at Heaton Park, which saw the Gallagher brothers take to the stage together for the first time in 16 years, was a dream come true for tens of thousands of fans who were thrilled to hear the iconic band perform their classic hits once again.
However, influencer locaelectric was decidedly underwhelmed by the experience.
In a TikTok video posted to her 244k followers, the fashion influencer, who regularly shares updates from her global travels, complained about the lack of bins at the venue and the rowdy behaviour of fellow concert-goers, whom she disparagingly referred to as “riff raff”.
She remarked: “It was also the filthiest concert I’ve ever been to. After I had a drink I was looking for a trash can to throw it into because I didn’t want to be like the riff raff that was just throwing everything on the floor.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
“I’ve never seen a dirtier place, I looked for a trash can, I couldn’t find one.
“Finally I did find a cluster of four trash cans. There were 80,000 people at this concert, I only saw a cluster of four trash cans the entire time I was there.”
One commenter pointed out that the UK has a history of limiting the use of bins in public places due to associated safety risks. They penned: “Bins are avoided because of what happened at the Ariana concert, they’re deemed as safety risks. There are volunteers who pick up all the rubbish after the concerts.”
The influencer, whose real name is Alexis Nido-Russo, even likened people to “wild animals”, stating in a caption on the video: “I also got blasted by a drink because the lads were losing their minds and launching drinks into the air like wild animals.”
One commenter was quick to point out an unfortunate fact, saying: “Hate to tell you this but it wasn’t drinks being launched in the air.”
It wasn’t just the absence of waste bins that failed to meet her expectations, as she criticised the amount of alcohol consumed by other attendees.
“I have never seen a more concentrated group of drunkenness,” she said. “You go to a concert and sometimes you see maybe one or two people that you’re like, you’ve been over-served.
“This was you were lucky if you found one or two people that hadn’t been over-served.”
It appeared that drinking was a major issue for her, as the influencer claimed that there was “nothing to do” in Manchester except hit the pub.
And while she praised the people of Manchester as “incredible” and “friendly”, the compliment quickly turned backhanded when she suggested it was merely because everyone was inebriated.
She remarked: “Overall my review of Manchester was, the people, incredible, I love the people of Manchester. You can’t find a friendlier bunch of people, probably because they’re all drunk. Regardless, they were so nice.
“There’s not a lot to do in Manchester, I will probably never go back.”
In her video caption, she also quipped: “If the song ‘who let the dogs out’ was a city, it would be Manchester.”
Her comments didn’t sit well with many, leading to a flurry of responses.
One retorted: “Seriously? Manchester is full of culture. I can list at least 5 museums off the top of my head. The People’s History Museum is incredible!”.
Others questioned what she expected from an Oasis gig, known for their lively atmosphere.
“Not sure what else you expected from Oasis in Manchester? This is what every other person needed,” one commented.
Another chimed in: “I feel like you don’t get oasis if you have a problem with this stuff,” while another posted: “and to think you got tickets over real fans.”
One individual was more forthright, simply stating: “nah this is doing my head in”.
