Dan Walker has reached out to Louis Tomlinson after the star slammed the BBC Breakfast host for “continuing to ask him about his grief” in an awkward interview.
The former One Direction star appeared on the morning show to promote his debut solo album Walls, but was disappointed in the way the interview was conducted.
After he left the studio, the musician vented his frustration on Twitter, writing: “Definitely won’t be going on there again Haha! Love to all my fans for always having my back.”
After seeing the tweet, Dan, who had spoken to Louis hours earlier, asked him why he was upset with the outcome of their previous conversation.
“Sorry, you feel like that. It was nice to speak to you on BBC Breakfast this morning. Can I ask what you are upset about?” Dan asked.

And Louis replied: “I was upset that you continued to ask me about my grief. It goes without saying how hard it is to lose both people so close to me. The least I ask is that you respect my decision of not wanting to be asked in interviews about something so painful.”
He added: “I’m lucky enough to have a creative outlet for me to talk about grief this doesn’t, however, give you the right to talk about it for gossip purposes.”
Following Louis’ comments, Dan replied stating he had “no intention” to dwell on his grief.

“Hi Louis. We were asking you about the song on your new album about your mum. We know it’s painful which is why we didn’t dwell on it. No intention to upset you or be ‘gossipy’ about it at all. That’s not our style on BBC Breakfast,” Dan responded.
It’s been a difficult few years for the star as his mum Johannah Deakin died aged 43 after losing her long battle with leukaemia in 2016.
Last year, Louis’ sister Felicite Tomlinson died from a suspected heart attack following an accidental overdose.

A post mortem didn’t record a natural cause of death but toxicologist Dr Susan Paterson said “toxic” levels of Oxycodone as well as cocaine and Alpaxolam, or Xanax, were found in her blood.
Since Louis revealed he’s going to boycott the programme, a BBC spokesperson said: “We wanted to cover all aspects of Louis’s life that have influenced his new album and feel the questioning was fair.”
