Coronation Street star Sue Nicholls was on flying form during her appearance on Lorraine Kelly’s show this morning.
The 76-year-old actress is celebrating 40 years as the iconic Audrey Roberts on the Corrie cobbles, with a tribute episode airing on ITV tomorrow evening.
Lorraine took a trip to Weatherfield, exploring the Manchester studios before sitting down with Sue.
During their chat, Sue brought up Lorraine’s hilarious appearance in the soap last year, in which Gail Platt hit her with an arrow.
Jokingly, Sue promised Lorraine that she would keep her safe in the Corrie studios, following last year’s painful encounter with Gail and her dodgy aim.

She said: “I want you to feel safe.”
Speaking about co-star Helen Worth, she went on: “You’re alright because I locked her in a dressing room and I’ve taken away all the spears and arrows. I’ve talked to her.”
Sue reflected on her first appearance on the soap, dating back to April 1979.

Remembering her Corrie debut, she told Lorraine: “I can remember my first scene, it was with the wonderful Gail.”
The onscreen mother-and-daughter duo has had their fair share of ups and downs on the show, as viewers have watched their relationship blossom over the years.
Sue added: “Helen, of course, is still divine.”

Luckily for Coronation Street fans, Helen doesn’t plan on leaving the show anytime soon, as Lorraine questioned her about Audrey’s future on the cobbles.
She said: “I don’t want to leave – do you know something? I love it, I am very happy in the job.”
Lorraine airs on weekdays at 9am on ITV.
