Sources claim that The Duchess of Sussex has allegedly been invited to the star-studded Met Gala held by Anna Wintour in New York this year.
Meghan Markle , a former actress who shot to world fame in the hit series Suits is believed to be attending alongside friend Edward Enninful on May 4th.
This will be her first A-List appearance since stepping down as a Senior Member of the British Royal Family on March 31st.
The event often sees bold themes, with last year being the year of “Camp: Notes on Fashion” – this year the theme is allegedly based on Virginia Woolfe’s Orlando, which sees the main character change sex, with Meghan expected to take on a “glamorous androgynous” look.
Speaking to The Sun, a source claims: “The Met Gala is for the Who’s Who of show business. Naturally, Meghan was one of the first names on the guest list, and Edward’s team are excited that the two will go together.
“Meghan is keen to step out occasionally without Harry so that she can establish herself once more in Hollywood.”
Hosted by US Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, the Met Gala often sees a string of famous faces walking the exclusive carpet with Harry Styles hosting last year’s event wearing a black chiffon blouse and Gucci heels and Celine Dion wearing a crystal-embroidered headpiece which allegedly weighed 22lbs.

Meghan’s pals including Serena Williams , Oprah Winfrey and US singer Beyoncé often attend the event held in Manhattan.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the controversial decision to step down as Senior Members of the Royal Family.
Prince Harry and Meghan plan to live in North America and will forge out a financially independent lifestyle but will raise their son, Archie-Harrison “with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born into”.

They will undertake just three joint engagements in the UK during the early days of March before they step down.
It’s believed that their final engagement will be on March 9th and they will join Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the Windsor Family at Westminster Abbey.
Daily Star Online has contacted a representative for The Duchess for comment.
