Dancing On Ice's Hamish Gaman confirms engagement following Caprice feud

Dancing On Ice star Hamish Gaman has confirmed his engagement to Amelia Humfress.

Hamish, 36, took to Twitter to make his announcement and claimed he wanted to move on from the “negative” drama which he became embroiled in recently.

Model Caprice Bourret didn’t see eye-to-eye with Hamish during her stint on Dancing On Ice which led to the couple separating mid-January and Caprice being partnered up with Oscar Peter.

However, Caprice withdrew from the ITV competition just one week later.

The split sent shockwaves through the Dancing On Ice team and Hamish was said to be in a “dark place”.

It was recently revealed that the 48-year-old model turned businesswoman will not be attending the grand finale next weekend.

However, Hamish decided he wasn’t going to let negativity overshine his announcement and recently popped the question to his girlfriend of four years.

Addressing his 15,000 Twitter followers, he said: “It’s finally time for some good news, We’re engaged Ring And we’ve now set a date!

“After so much negativity, it feels so good to talk about something positive.”

Hamish claims that the proposal had come sooner than expected because he realised that he |couldn’t have got through” the past few months without Amelia.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine, the 36-year-old added: “I’ve known for a long time that I want to spend the rest of my life with Amelia,”

The pair have already set a date

“Without Amelia, I don’t know what I would have done,” he gushed.

“When you’re in the public eye, you expect to read and hear gossip about yourself, but I never thought it would affect my mental health as much as it did.”

In a statement released on his Instagram page, he claimed that the past three and a half months had been the worst of his life.
