It’s believed that Dancing On Ice’s professional skaters Carlotta Edwards and Alexander Demetriou’s relationship was said to be at breaking point after the professional grew close to his celebrity pairing, Love Island babe Maura Higgins.
Sources also claimed that Alex’s marriage had been “collapsing” days after Maura announced she had split from Curtis Pritchard.
The 29-year-old skating star was reportedly close to announcing a split from his Canadian wife, Carlotta, who he has been with for 11 years.
But the pair looked to put the rumours behind them last night as they snuggled together for an intimate behind-the-scenes selfie at the Dancing On Ice final.
Sharing a snap to her 20,900 Instagram followers Carlotta cuddled up to her husband and rested a hand on his chest as the pair grinned from ear to ear.

The Canadian beauty captioned her snap: “Love this one so much. Can’t wait for you guys to see the voting window routine.
“It’s truly magical.”
Carlotta and Alexander had been seen participating in group performances during this year’s series before the winner was announced following a string of breathtaking routines.

An ITV source told Daily Star Online that claims Alexander and Carlotta were close to announcing their separation were not true.
Earlier in the day, Carlotta took to her Instagram page to share a string of video clips alongside her celebrity pairing, Ben Hanlin.
The 29-year-old seemed in high spirits as she was bouncing up and down in amusement while Ben performed a series of magic tricks.

She went on to tell her social media followers that she was having “way too much fun” before the CBBC show Saturday Mash-Up! Live had started filming.
A later clip showed the skater dancing around the MediaCity UK television studio to the number one hit Shake It Off by Taylor Swift.
Maura announced her split from Curtis earlier in the week, saying: “Curtis and I have made the decision to separate.

“There is no easy way to get through a breakup and no bad feeling on either side.
