Ozzy Osbourne: 'Ordinary Man' Is the First Album I Recorded Completely Sober

    WENN/Avalon

In a candid new interview with Beats 1, the former Black Sabbath frontman further tells host Zane Lowe why he does not understand how he got to live to the age of 71.
    Feb 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ozzy Osbourne’s new album, “Ordinary Man”, is the first he has recorded completely sober.
The rock icon’s first solo album in a decade was released on Friday, February 21 and in a candid new Beats 1 interview with Zane Lowe, the former Black Sabbath star reveals he was clean and present throughout the process.
“I thought it was the drugs and the alcohol that made it all work,” he told Lowe, “but it’s not true. All I was doing for years is self-medicating ’cause I didn’t like the way I felt.”
“This is the first album I’ve co-wrote and recorded f**king completely sober (sic)… The last album, I wrote some of it stoned. I quite like being sober now ’cause at least I can remember the f**king thing I did yesterday.”
Ozzy also told the radio host he feels blessed to be alive after so many of his rock star peers and friends have died.
“I’m not being funny and I’m not being cocky, but I can remember times when I’ve f**king woke up with puke down me (sic),” he added. “I’ve f**king woke up with a bed full of blood, when I’ve fallen down and banged my head or whatever. My friend John Bonham, I used to go drinking with him. He died. Bon Scott, he died. I don’t know what to f**king say.”

“People go, ‘You must have the Midas touch’ or whatever. I’m lucky. I wasn’t any better than any of them. I even f**king would go so far as to say I was worse in some cases. But it’s the luck of the draw. Seventy-one and I don’t f**king understand how I got there.”

600Breezy Refuses to Sign Record Deal With Drake Because the Latter Has 'Hidden Agenda'

    Instagram

Even though the ’24 Bars’ rapper often hangs out together with the ‘God’s Plan’ hitmaker, he admits in a new interview that he doesn’t want to sign to the latter.
    Feb 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Even though 600Breezy and Drake often hang out together, that doesn’t mean the former is signed to the Canadian hip-hop superstar. In fact, Breezy admits to refusing to ever sign to Drake because he believes active rappers always have “hidden agenda.”
In an interview with DJ Smallz, Breezy says, “Everybody seen me with Drake all the time. I wasn’t signed to Drake, bro. ‘Cause at the end of the day, he’s still an artist. If I signed to him, he’s gon’ sign me to a label. I would have other people over and it ain’t gon’ be like I’m dealing with him. He’s still on the road doing shows, making albums. So, if you sign to him and he’s really who you singed to and you gotta do the professional part, too, they ain’t gon’ get nowhere ’cause he gotta focus on himself.”
Breezy then advises other up-and-coming rappers not to sign to other rappers because he believes it’s the “biggest mistake” that many make. “He gotta do his job, too. Like, he’s still rapping. You gotta sign to somebody that don’t wanna be the person that you are or don’t want to hold you down to not get bigger than them,” he adds. “You sign to another rapper it’s always a hidden agenda there.”
Breezy has been signed to EMPIRE record label since 2015. In that same year, the “24 Bars” rapper met Drake for the first time at a show in Atlanta and have remained friends ever since. Their friendship turned into a musical collaboration when Breezy joined forces with the “God’s Plan” rapper on “More Life” in 2017.
Talking about how the collaboration came to happen, Breezy previously said, “We were just having a conversation and he just came out of nowhere like, ‘I need that drop for ‘More Life’. It just came out the blue. I didn’t even ask for it, and that’s all I needed to hear. I just gave him a little voice-over right there, and that’s what it was.”

Watch Christina Aguilera's Rousing Rendition of 'Ave Maria' at Kobe Bryant Memorial

Taking the stage at the Staples Center, Los Angeles in a black gown, the ‘Lady Marmalade’ singer is accompanied by an orchestra during the emotional performance.
    Feb 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Christina Aguilera has delivered one memorable performance at Kobe Bryant’s public memorial. Taking the Staples Center stage during the Celebration of Life ceremony in honor of the late NBA legend and his 13-year-old daughter, the five-time Grammy Award winner left people in tears with her rendition of “Ave Maria”.
Surrounded by red roses and dozens of white candles, the “Lady Marmalade” singer was accompanied by an orchestra as she performed the Italian version of Franz Schubert’s classic composition. She was the final performer to pay respect at the memorial which was attended by over 20,000 people.
For the Monday, February 24 performance, the “Genie in a Bottle” hitmaker donned a crisp black suit jacket with lace sleeves. She paired her somber top with wide-legged trousers, had her platinum hair worn down with middle parting, and opted to go with her signature deep red lipstick.

While Christina performed last, Beyonce Knowles kicked start the memorial event. The “Formation” singer sang a heartfelt rendition of “XO”. Claiming that the track was one of Kobe’s “favourite songs,” the 38-year-old told the audiences, “I’m here ’cause I love Kobe.” Rocking a gold suit, she also delivered “Halo” from her 2008 album, “I Am… Sasha Fierce”.
Another singer paying tribute with a solemn performance was Alicia Keys. Wearing a purple attire with her hair tied in a bun, she played Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” on the piano instead of singing. She was accompanied by a string quartet for the performance.
During the memorial, Kobe’s widow Vanessa Bryant thanked people for the love and support in the wake of Kobe and Gianna’s passing. “Thank you all so much for being here. It means so much to us…,” she said. “The outpouring of love and support that my family has felt from around the world has been so uplifting. Thank you so much for all your prayers…”
She went on to note, “God knew they couldn’t be on this Earth without each other.” Concluding her speech, she added, “He had to bring them home to have them together. Babe, you take care of our Gigi… We love and miss you Boo Boo and GiGi. May you both rest in peace and have fun in heaven until we meet again one day.”

Pusha T Removes 'Hunting Season' From Streaming Services Due to Pop Smoke's Death

    WENN/Instagram/Derrick Salters

Days after the ‘Welcome to the Party’ hitmaker was fatally shot at his home, the ‘Mercy’ rapper explains why he didn’t feel right leaving his collaboration with Jadakiss circulating online.
    Feb 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Hunting Season” is over for Pusha T – the rapper has pulled his Jadakiss collaboration from streaming services out of respect for murdered MC Pop Smoke.
The rising “Welcome to the Party” hitmaker, real name Bashar Jackson, was fatally shot by masked gunmen at his Los Angeles home last week (February 19), and the 20-year-old’s death has prompted Pusha to rethink the release of the tune, due to its sensitive subject matter.
The track features Pusha and Jadakiss trading lines about killing off the competition, and in a message on Instagram, Kanye West’s pal explains he didn’t feel right leaving the single circulating online.
“Hunting Season was a request that IcePick Jay (RIP) always had and in light of his death me and (Jadakiss) made an incredible song,” Pusha posted.
“With that being said, the whole concept of hunting season and the hypothetical ideas of ‘killing rappers’ isn’t (sitting) well with me while mourning the recent death of Pop Smoke. Rest in peace Pop and condolences to his family.”

Jadakiss has yet to comment on the news, but the track was due to feature on his new album, “Ignatius”, named after his late friend Ignatius ‘IcePick Jay’ Jackson, who died of cancer in 2017.
It’s not clear if “Hunting Season”‘s removal is just temporary or permanent, or whether it will remain on the tracklisting for “Ignatius”, which is set for release on Friday, February 28.

Madonna Angers Fans Over Three Hour Delay to 'Madame X Paris' Show

    Instagram

The ‘Medellin’ singer has reportedly completed her February 22 concert at 2:15 A.M. the next day after the production was hit with ‘unforeseen technical problems.’
    Feb 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Madonna’s “Madame X” Show in Paris, France was delayed by three hours on Saturday, February 22, after the production was hit with “unforeseen technical problems.”
The “Vogue” hitmaker is currently in the midst of a 12-night residency at the city’s Le Grand Rex venue, but was three hours late when she took the stage this weekend due to production issues.
According to French site RTL, a technician claimed the performance was delayed due to certain decorations for the tour not being compatible with the concert’s venue.
The publication also reported the show eventually ended at 2:15 A.M. on Sunday morning, leaving many of the 2,800 fans in attendance struggling to travel home.
Disgruntled fans took to social media, insisting the “Medellin” star did not perform until midnight, when she was due to hit the stage more than three hours earlier.

“How could you be more disrespectful to your fans? Several shows cancelled without any reasons (we still had to pay for our plane tickets to go to Paris, thank you very much) and now you start your show 4 hours late… Your behaviour is a shame! You shouldn’t sing anymore…” wrote one user.

“Does @Madonna know that her fans have a life, are parents who have their children babysat to come and see her?” wrote another fan, while a third added, “Three hours late is unacceptable for a queen like you. We have schedules to respect in Paris.”

The “Madame X Tour” has proved problematic for the star, with Madonna cancelling shows in cities including New York, Los Angeles and London earlier on in the tour, which kicked off in September (2019).
The final show takes place on March 11.

James Hetfield Offers Explanation Behind Metallica's Cancellation of Two Festival Shows

    WENN/Adriana M. Barraza

The ‘Enter Sandman’ rockers have bowed out of the Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival in Columbus, Ohio in May, and of the Louder Than Life bash in Louisville, Kentucky in September.
    Feb 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Metallica has pulled out of two upcoming festival gigs to allow frontman James Hetfield to attend “critical recovery events” as part of his battle with sobriety.
The “Enter Sandman” rockers had been booked to perform a double headlining set at the Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival in Columbus, Ohio in May, and perform at the Louder Than Life bash in Louisville, Kentucky in September, but they have since bowed out of the shows due to a personal diary clash.
In an open letter to fans, Hetfield, whose rehabilitation treatment last year (19) prompted the group to postpone a planned Australian tour, apologizes to ticketholders and writes, “As part of my continuing effort to get and stay healthy, I have critical recovery events on those weekends that cannot be moved…”
“The reality is that I have not prioritized my health in the past year of touring and I now know that my mental health comes first,” he explains. “That might sound like a no-brainer for most of you but I didn’t want to let the Metallica team/family down and, I alone, completely compromised myself.”
The singer goes on to share that he is making good progress with his ongoing treatment, “Looking on the brighter side, my therapy is going well. It was absolutely necessary for me to look after my mental, physical, and spiritual health.”
He assures fans all other Metallica concerts will go ahead as planned, and concludes his statement with a note of gratitude.
“Beyond 2020, I am optimistic about the blessings I have been given and what the future brings,” he adds.
“I appreciate all the great prayers and support from everyone since I went into rehab last September. Like the moth into the flame, being human in this career has its huge challenges and can be difficult. Your understanding helps the healing.”

The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tool will step in as replacement headliners for the Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival, while the new Louder Than Life performers are set to be announced soon.
The cancellation news emerges days after Hetfield returned to the stage for the first time since his rehab stay to honor late rocker Eddie Money.
The musician made a surprise appearance at a Thursday night (February 20) memorial show at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, where he was joined by the likes of Sammy Hagar, Rick Springfield and George Thorogood.
Hetfield performed Money’s tune “Baby Hold On”.
Proceeds from the Money tribute show benefited the USC Eddie Money Cancer Research Fund.
Money died in September, aged 70. following a battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer.
Hetfield will be back onstage with Metallica in April for a show at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago, Chile.

Beyonce Starts Kobe Bryant Memorial With Stirring Rendition of His Favorite Song

    https://www.beyonce.com/

The Celebration of Life event for the late basketball legend and his daughter, Gianna, at the Staples Center has Jimmy Kimmel serving as the MC and Vanessa Bryant sharing an emotional tribute.
    Feb 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Beyonce Knowles kicked off a Celebration of Life event for basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, in Los Angeles on Monday, February 24.
The superstar performed her song “XO” at the top of the Staples Center memorial, backed by a choir and a small orchestra, explaining it was one of Kobe’s “favourite songs”.
“I’m here ’cause I love Kobe,” she told the packed venue, where the sportsman played for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Dressed in a gold suit, Beyonce also performed a stirring rendition of her hit “Halo”.
    [embedded content]
The memorial started 30 minutes late to allow thousands of fans to file in to the Staples Center.
Kobe and Gianna were remembered at the event, alongside the other seven people who also perished in a helicopter crash last month (January 2020).
The Celebration of Life also featured highlight clips of Kobe’s basketball career and his life with his family, beamed onto the Staples Center’s famous jumbotron screens.
Kobe’s friend Jimmy Kimmel served as the event’s MC, but confessed he was the “wrong person” to lead the memorial as he sobbed while honouring his late friend and the victims of the crash, although he also managed a few laughs as he poked fun at the Lakers’ rivals, the Boston Celtics.
Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, also took the stage to thank fans and friends for their support. Dressed all in black and fighting back tears, she said, “Thank you all so much for being here. It means so much to us…”
“The outpouring of love and support that my family has felt from around the world has been so uplifting. Thank you so much for all your prayers…”
She went on to talk about her “baby girl Gigi”, calling her an “amazingly sweet and thoughtful soul”, adding, “She was daddy’s girl but I know she loved her momma… She was one of my very best friends.”
“Kobe always said she was me; she had my fire, my personality and sarcasm, but she was tender and loving on the inside. She had the best laugh. It was infectious. It was pure and genuine… Gigi was sunshine, she brightened up my day, every day.”
Vanessa added, “We will not be able to see Gigi go to high school… and ask her how her day went; we didn’t get the chance to teach her how to drive a car; I won’t be able to tell her how gorgeous she looks on her wedding day; I’ll never get to see my baby girl walk down the aisle, have a father-daughter dance with her daddy… or have babies of her own. Gianna would have been an amazing mommy. Gianna would have probably become the best player in the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association). She would have made a huge difference for women’s basketball.”
Turning her attention to her late husband, Vanessa called Kobe “my soulmate”, adding, “To me, he was Ko-ko, my boo boo, my bae-boo… I couldn’t see him as a celebrity, nor just an incredible basketball player; he was my sweet husband and the beautiful father of my children. He was mine. He was my everything.”
“I was his first girlfriend, his first love, his wife, his best friend, his confidante and his protector. He was the most amazing husband. Kobe loved me more than I could ever express… we balanced each other out…”
Recalling his thoughtful and romantic Valentine’s Day gifts, Vanessa told fans and friends, “He bought me the actual notebook and the blue dress Rachel McAdams wore in ‘The Notebook’ movie… We had hoped to grow old together, like the movie.”
“A couple of weeks before they passed, Kobe sent me a sweet text and mentioned how he wanted to spend time together, just the two of us, without our kids, because I’m his best friend first. We never got the chance to do it… But I’m thankful I have that recent text. It means so much to me.”
“Kobe wanted us to renew our vows… and he wanted to travel the world together.”
Vanessa also lightened proceedings when she called her late husband the “MVP of girl dads”, explaining, “He never left the toilet seat up.”
She added, “I want my daughters to know and remember the amazing person, husband and father he was; the kind of man that wanted to teach the future generations to be better and keep them from making his own mistakes… He taught us all valuable lessons about life and sports.”
Tearing up at the end of her speech, Vanessa told the Staples Center crowd that God knew Kobe and Gigi couldn’t exist without each other, adding, “He had to bring them home to have them together. Babe, you take care of our Gigi… We love and miss you Boo Boo and GiGi. May you both rest in peace and have fun in heaven until we meet again one day.”
She received a standing ovation as she walked off the stage.
Other speakers included basketball stars Diana Taurasi, Sabrina Ionescu, college basketball coach Geno Auriemma, who had hoped to welcome Gianna Bryant to his Connecticut Huskies team, and Lakers general manager and Bryant’s best friend and former agent Rob Pelinka, who recalled his pal teaching himself to play Beethoven’s “Moonlight Senata” on the piano, so he could serenade his wife. Pelinka then introduced Alicia Keys to the stage to play the classical favourite.
    [embedded content]
Among the mourners were Snoop Dogg, LL Cool J, Spike Lee, Jennifer Lopez, basketball greats Magic Johnson, Dwyane Wade, and Shaquille O’Neal, and current stars Stephen Curry, Dwight Howard, and James Harden.
The proceeds from ticket sales for the Celebration of Life, which was interspersed with chants of ‘Kobe, Kobe, Kobe’, will benefit the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation, which Vanessa relaunched earlier this month.
