Kehlani Lashes Out at Joe Budden for Criticizing Her Over New Breakup Song

    Instagram

The ‘Valentine’s Day (Shameful)’ singer calls the rapper-turned-podcaster ‘a joke’ and his comments ‘disgusting’ following his criticisms on the track that alluded to her relationship with YG.
    Feb 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kehlani was furious at Joe Budden. She clapped back at the rapper-turned-podcaster for criticizing her after listening to her new track “Valentine’s Day (Shameful)” which reportedly addressed her breakup with YG. “Joe Budden is a joke,” she tweeted.
In his podcast, Joe made this comment about her new song, “I feel like I’ve been hoodwinked.” He added, “Cause it was just last week we came on this podcast [and] Rory made me listen to a YG and Kehlani song [Konclusions]. … I was with this new image of YG being in love.”
He continued, “[‘Valentine’s Day’ is] unlike any Kehlani record I’ve ever heard,” before calling her out, “She really wants us to know how much of a piece of s**t YG is, but she’s hiding behind the thin veil of I’m not telling you guys who I’m talking about.”
He admitted the song was good, “The f**ked up part is she’s smoking this s**t. And she stepped on that n***a’s single,” but he was less than impressed with Kehlani for picking apart YG, “Chicks don’t care what they step on when they’re in a rage. They don’t care what they ruin.”
Kehlani responded, describing Joe’s comments as “disgusting.” She also dissed him for using her photo to promote his podcast on social media, “The amount of misinformation and lies and lameness in this episode about me and you used my face is … lol gotta love it.”

Joe replied, “We love you, it’s jokes… feel better.” He later added, “I’m bout sick of you artists… never a peep through years of praise but wanna jump outta windows when you hear something you don’t like… newsflash, i am not friends with you n***as.”

When accepting the accolade, she confessed, “I’ve felt very hated recently. And, when I was on the stage and I saw you guys all smiling at me. It genuinely made me wanna cry. During an interview with BBC Breakfast, she shared, “We’ve been wanting to make a Bond song for years. The Weeknd Admits He Wants to Have Babies With Ex on 'After Hours', Fans Think It's Bella Hadid

Elsewhere on the song, the Canadian singer also expresses his wish to reconcile with his former lover and promises, ‘This time, I won’t break your heart.’
    Feb 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – The Weeknd has continued the promotion for his highly-anticipated album “After Hours”. On Tuesday, February 18, the Canadian star unleashed the title track off the album that got fans speculating whether he is singing about his ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid.
The song finds The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, addressing a relationship that ended in heartbreak and expressing how he desires a reconciliation. “Sorry that I broke your heart, your heart/ I said, baby/ I’ll treat you better than I did before/ I’ll hold you down and not let you go/ This time, I won’t break your heart,” he sings in the chorus.
Elsewhere on the song, The Weeknd also admits to hoping to start a family with his former lover should they ever get back. “I won’t just leave/ This time, I’ll never leave,” he rhymes. “I wanna share babies/ Protection, we won’t need.”

Considering his recent split from Bella, many were convinced that “After Hours” is about the Victoria’s Secret model. “Bella heading to Abel’s place after hearing after hours,” someone said along with a video of a child riding a motorbike in a high speed. Meanwhile, one other believed that the exes would get back together after listening to the song.
“After Hours is literally an apology letter to Bella Hadid,” another wrote, as a fourth individual begged the sister of Gigi Hadid to “go back to Abel after hours is making me cry.” One more person still wasn’t sure and asked, “Okay but the real question must be asked….. is After Hours about Miss Bella Hadid.”
The Weeknd has yet to respond to the speculation.
“After Hours” is the third promotional song for his upcoming album, following “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights”. It is set to hit the stores on March 20.

Billie Eilish and Finneas Get to Read 'No Time to Die' Script Before Creating Theme Song

    WENN/Avalon

During an interview for ‘Good Morning America’, score composer Hans Zimmer reveals that the ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker and her producer brother have also watched the upcoming James Bond film.
    Feb 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Songwriter and producer FINNEAS scored a sneak peek at the new Bond movie script after signing up to create the film’s theme tune with his sister, Billie Eilish.
The hitmaker had always dreamed of composing a 007 theme and when he got the call, he wanted to make sure his effort would be a hit among the film’s producers.
“We didn’t want to go in blind, so we asked if we could have any of the script and we were given a scene of the script to read and that informed all the lyrics,” FINNEAS tells “Good Morning America”.
The film’s score composer Hans Zimmer also insisted Billie and FINNEAS got to see the film, “They were there and we were here (in London) and they hadn’t seen the movie, so I said, ‘Would you mind jumping onto a plane and sitting in a sweaty little cutting room in the middle of the night, completely jetlagged, and watch this movie.”
    [embedded content]
FINNEAS is thrilled with the end result, “No Time to Die”, which Zimmer and Bond director Cary Joji Fukunaga are raving about, and admits the new Bond film title was a big help. “We knew we wanted the song to be the same title as the film, so we lucked out on the title,” he explains. “It wasn’t called Quantum of Solace! It’s a wonderful film title, wonderful film, but hard song title to write.”

Brit Awards Boss Responds to Charli XCX and Anne-Marie's Criticisms

    WENN/Avalon

The British music awards is criticized for lack of female nominees but the chief defends the nominations and insists they simply reflected a strong 2019 for male acts.
    Feb 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Brit Awards boss Geoff Taylor has hit back at Charli XCX and Anne-Marie’s criticism of the lack of female nominees for this year’s British Album of the Year prize.
Anne-Marie and Charli have both expressed frustration at the lack of women on a shortlist for Tuesday’s February 18, 2020 ceremony that features Dave, Stormzy, Lewis Capaldi, Harry Styles, and Michael Kiwanuka.
However, Geoff, the chief executive at awards organisers the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), points out that three of last year’s five nominees, who included Anne-Marie, were women – although all-male band The 1975 won on the night.
“There’s been a lot of success for male acts in 2019 – and with grime and hip-hop doing very well, they are more male-dominated genres,” he tells Britain’s Music Week magazine. “That is different to 2019.”
“We had a really strong showing from female (nominees) last year with the same (gender) balance in the academy. So last year it was all about Dua Lipa, Anne-Marie, Jorja Smith, Florence (Florence and the Machine), and Jess Glynne.”
The BPI chief went on to say that the nominations simply reflected a strong 2019 for male acts.
“When you look at the Album of the Year nominees, they all released absolutely fantastic records,” he says. “We have an academy that’s made up equally of men and women, and that academy decided that these were the best releases of this particular year. I think we need to respect that.”
Anne-Marie told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper the lack of female representation this year “does p**s me off,” while Charli, who could win the British Female Solo Artist prize at the event at the O2 in London, expressed fury about the lack of gender-balance.
“What the f**k is that about?” she raged. “It’s what everyone has been saying. Women don’t just deserve to be in the female categories, we’re not the subplot, the warm-up act, we’re the main event.”
